What pilot shortage ?
Aer Lingus offering captains Euro5000 per 'G' day callout plus an extra 10 days leave and the pilots are turning this down and want more. ( see Irish Independant News today ).
But in CX !!!!!!!! |
Aer Lingus 18% profit margin, 317m euros in the last year, CX management - what's a profit?
|
Yes, but in Europe, and especially Ireland, they don’t have the ‘fierce competition’ that CX has here in Asia 🤪 |
Sounds good, when do you start with them? all the best, think of us here will ya. |
Aer Lingus do face a pilot shortage but are addressing recruitment with an impressive cadet programme. Meantime their owners IAG are offering their Iberia pilots a 12% pay increase, one extra weeks leave per annum and medical benefits for 10 years beyond retirement age. BA likely to get something similar.
Meantime back in HKG COS18 is seen as the way forward, Cut, cut,cut and they will come. |
I hear the current batch of "candidates" for DEFO have been through the sim with more than a few not being able to carry out basic manoeuvres, fly an approach, or land. Most coming from LCCs in SE Asia with several thousand hours, supposedly.
Why on earth would you be in training with this tsunami coming your way.. |
