BA "experienced pilot" hiring window open until Aug 5

Opportunity only knocks a few times in ones career. This is one of those times. Or you can stay at CX and surely experience the worst of all worlds.

Seems to be consensus on T&E that for a mature pilot, EasyJet is better bet (will need to be at BA for more than 20-25 years for it to be better gig than Easy)

That's a pretty subjective conclusion. There are many metrics that determine what is "better" as far as career go. At BA, you have varied fleets, a mix of flying, overall better conditions and you are working for the recognised flag carrier. Having said that, Easy is also a good destination for a career (have a few friends there, quite happy and satisfied). Regardless, either option would be far preferable to the dystopian nightmare that is the current day CX.

Leaving CX and joining BA on the LH fleet was the best decision I ever made, 4 months in the difference in attitudes and lifestyle is dramatic. All the best to my CX ex colleagues.

My son is a BA FO and Recruiter. CX FO's applying are being snapped up if they have EASA licences. Offers for A320 at LHR and LGW. Some CX SO's have applied ( having EASA licences and experience from previous airlines ) and they are struggling to pass. Poor flying skills and unrealistic aspiations of early commands in BA being the reasons for non acceptance.

Agreed, probably a missunderstanding somewhere but anyway lets not start another rumour running.. .

If two bases are being offered for a BA position it's either LHR (which is A320 plus it's the only base for the longhaul fleets) and LGW, (A320 only) there are no bases anywhere else.

Sorry guys, I did mean LHR and LGW NOT MAN. My mistake.

So, new joiners have a choice of basing in either, a) LHR (western, legal, first world port), or b) LGW (western, legal, first world port). Ok, sounds terrible. Must suck having to sit at a riverside pub on a nice Sunday as well. Much nicer in Kowloon being buried by mainland locusts (oops, sorry...tourists).
