Been there lately? The whole area is packed full of bums, vagrants criminals, drug addicts & illegal aliens. Why anyone even wants to visit this area these days is beyond belief..
Oakland itself is in the top 10 of the most violent cities in the US..

Maybe after unloading fly the plane to Vegas for the crew layover and let the return crew pick it up from there.

Would be interesting to see if managers would be willing to take their family/children to this and other hotels within the system. If they don't take their family then why would they send the employees there?

All of this may be true, but Oakland still sucks. And the more I read about the Bay Area though, I think you should keep the check-in equipment on the plane, unload it upon landing to handle the outbound passengers, once the plane returns from Vegas with the refreshed crew, load up all pilferable equipment before flying back to HKG. Otherwise, it could end up being covered in needles and feces.
