Trainers stood down?
I hear the trainers have been stood down at KA, but may have happened at CX as well, did it? Shows we are moving forward 😏 :ugh: |
I don't think I'd read too much into that really. CX has never really known what to do with KA since the day they bought it. KA was a potential threat. It owned KA house, most of its aircraft and had some pretty impressive expansion plans. Shanghai route alone made $2M US a week profit. CX paid close to $2 Billion US for KA but had no plans. KA shrank 30% in size over the next few years with CX management dithering over what to do with it. Tony Tyler with his " intelligent misuse of widebody aircraft" concept stifled growth at KA whilst allowing HKA and HKE and a multitude of Chinese carriers to monopolise the limited slots into Hong Kong. I think they've run out of ideas again. No need for trainers at KA. CX on the other hand........ |
TT - what a piece of work

A narcissist sitting next to an idiot. And we wonder why we are now dealing with the current chaos. The Swire curse continues.
|
Incredibly short sighted and arrogant to stand 25 line trainers down and pile all the work onto the STCs for only a small short term saving. They will truly deserve it if the DPA put a training ban in place when the time comes. |
They've just lost 25 trainers? In 6 months time there will be NTC requesting applications for TCs, how many will apply.
short sighted idiots |
Then again the new training manager might hire only certain people back. :} There are a few who seem to check and forget they are trainers |

This is based on anecdotal observation but having parents from Hong Kong while I grew up in North America, the general idea from my parents generation was that the British always knew what they were doing compared to the North Americans. There was always a sense of pride when they spoke of anything British, but anything that was American was considered second rate. I on the other hand have seen the exact opposite, it feels like the Brits don't know what they're doing. Swire, Rolls Royce...........BREXIT. It just feels like Britain's best days are behind them.
Before you could go to HK, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Canada or some armpit colony and get away from them for a while, there was even some adventure to it. You couldn't get the same beer EVERYWHERE and the same toothpaste EVERYWHERE and the same TV EVERYWHERE. Can't escape them any more, so they just drag everyone down to their level, everywhere. |
Best Days ??

There is nothing left of the HMV Britannia save the stern which will soon sink out of site and be gone forever.. Same as CX. |
Back on topic for a second. The trainers will be offered their TC positions back again soon. On the new training package. Not a monthly allowance but a “pay as you train” allowance. A piece of silver for every training event. Want your monthly allowance back? Simple. Upgrade to STC. Similar package arriving at the mother company soon. Just not politically intelligent to do it right now. |

Behind them ? Theresa May, the London Mayor, "Asian" grooming gangs where it's against the law to talk about or report on, a Royal Family who sits by and says not one word while "their" country crumbles under the smirks of EU demagogues and child rape gangs run amok...

I look forward to the usual responses - "there will be a long queue outside the DFO's offfice of trainers with their resignations in hand if the package is reduced...blah blah" - most probably from the very trainers who signed "The" letter and went quietly on with their jobs when CX called their bluff. |
