Hey, AT and RH, do you need reading glasses?

In case you two haven't noticed, as the SCMP states,HK property prices hit another record high last month. Purchase prices and rents are soaring. Perhaps you can explain how you will attract and RETAIN pilots in such an environment without a proper housing policy? I notice there doesn't seem to be any mention of your own housing packages being reduced. I can safely assure you that this issue alone will result in nearly all your expat pilots leaving in the not too distant future, a process already well underway. You touch ARAPA at your peril, and as for HKPA, it is a disgrace. I suppose you are both in town today getting your fiddles tuned up though...

Have you ever thought that perhaps that is their intention?

Yes, that has occurred to me. Actually, it seems the only logical conclusion to such destructive policies. Another reason for anyone with a sense of self-preservation to get as far away as quickly as they can. Toxic place, toxic management.

Until HKA starts offering a better package than CX and people start jumping ship or large numbers resign, I don't think they care.

They do care, as their latest antics well prove. "Interviewing" junior pilots and attempting to convince them that their housing situation is satisfactory. Pathetic. Nearly every FO/SO in this company is actively looking for a new employer. Managements wishful thinking won't change that fact.

As previously stated by me and many others. Living in a shoe box with your mate(s) is quite good fun in the early years. Find someone you want to make a home with and (God Forbid) Marry and start a Family - you simply cannot. School/car/own house? Forget all of that. You probably won't get a Basing but if you did and wanted a Command later you'll have to come back and live in the shoe box with your mates and leave the Family behind (or stay as an FO for ever on your base (hope they don't close it a la Paris) as many are doing).
How anyone buys that  is beyond me.
Oh, and you're quite right MM - Anna & Co have a very nice housing allowance thanks very much.
