The Weekly Liar. 27/12/17

The Weekly Liar:

Just read the comments by CK. Well, if what he says is 'true', then my colleagues have done themselves proud. They have 'gone the extra mile' to keep the operation running over the holidays. I guess that's their way of thanking management for their kind acknowledgment of our professionalism by the paying of the 13th month. Oh, wait . I can only hope it's not true what CK says. It will be interesting to find out the facts. Either way, we've got either a completely spineless pilot group, or we have a deceitful management. Not a good choice when you get right down to it. I've decided to leave this clown show. It's well established in a fatal dive.

No choice to be made, you have both. One, while not desirable, is forgivable.

if what he says is 'true'
I can't comment on that as I don't read his propaganda, but I'm pretty confident that they'll be overstating any contribution, to make it look like people are helping more than they are.

Not sure what CK was smoking when he typed the update but it looks like the outbound crews took the crew bus from the DXB hotel to FJR or DWC to rescue 745.

No discretion was used by the inbound and outbound crews and three short sectors between the UAE and BAH are well inside FDP.

Propaganda machine will write up anything to 'spin' the thought that all are helping while the actual truth is the completely opposite.
Remember, TFT! (Ton for Tom).
Keep it up; -
at least one ton extra per sector, so; -
RETI, consider the safety implications of shutting one down early. (note the recent incident at HKG with a crossing aircraft while another was taking off on the same runway at the same time).
Has the APU had problems recently, maybe good idea to start it asap incase it is a problem.
Do you really want to take that track shortening? After all it may bring you closer to that weather return.
Do you really want a radar vector to the FAF, it may cause a 'rushed' approach and therefore not be in the company's best interest.
Weather 'not the best'? Just to be on the safe side ensure an ILS approach (lower minima) rather than RNAV approach (reduced track miles).
Increasing traffic with poor english at many airports? Safety may dictate slow taxi speeds to ensure situational awareness and reaction times maintained at a safe level.

Please add as you see fit.

Just finished a long haul flight where I incorporated nearly all those airmanship ideas. It is worth reiterating these points regularly.

Can you squeeze a bit more noise out of the kerosene burners in the cruise and get the passengers to their destination 10 minutes earlier? CX likes to keep the customer happy, right?

For the bedwetters out there,

Don’t call it The Weekly Liar then get all upset when the General Manager Lying tells a few fibs.

The ME was a fiasco that had crew in dispute with crew control.
And the less said about the zero help that was offered to fix the self made mess at JNB on Christmas Day/Boxing Day the better. I’m guessing that’s why he said nothing about it

If their lies affect you, I’d strongly recommend not reading them.

Thanks for the clarity Progress. I assumed that the message from the GMF was suspect. I just hope that the pilots of this airline wake up to not only the threat posed by our management, but the necessity of hitting back when attacked. If we don't demonstrate some real resistance towards their designed insults and disrespectful treatment of us, it only encourages them to treat us with even more of the same. Everyone needs to recognise the threat and then take individual action to contribute to the solution.
