RUMORS IN THE AIR

Level C staff received an ultimatum last Friday via email.

Inappropriate relationship(s) occurring between a HIGH LEVEL 9th FLOOR DIRECTOR AND PILOTS??? Have we not had this kind of behavior before? Were we not warned by a previous CEO about this type of behavior? IT IS INSTANT GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION!

More training captains resigning but it seems quite a few new commanders are passing.

People getting called in by fleet offices over rostering/unfit/missed duties. They are blaming us not themselves.

The Atlas Air deal being addressed by the unions. IT NEEDS TO BE STOPPED.

This company has become something of legend when it comes to ethics or UN-ETHICS! I mean what in the hell is going on now. It's like a bunch of frat kids are running this place. It won't go down because of mismanagement but because of corruption of unimaginable proportions.:ugh:

Cx/ ka pilots still report 30-40 mins early , in their immaculately ironed uniforms ( by their domestic servant) , spouting SOPs and where the A350's going to next. They are wedded to their jobs more than most. Being a pilot, you ultimately love your vocation , regardless of your employer.
( ditto EK QR et al)

CX were the leaders when I started out . Their pilots perhaps still believe they are , but it doesn't matter, lets hope the whole lot implodes, and a Phoenix arises.

Visionary,

Please send message again in English.

What was the ultimatum? An "ultimatum" is typically an "or else" message. What was the "or else"? Did it relate to 9th floor inappropriate relationships with the pilots?

Training Captains resigning from Training... Really?? - not enough obviously as the Company are doing nothing about it. Attempted intimidation of individual pilots, meh.... been going on for years if people let them get between your ears.

I know you love a good conspiracy story and I'm sure your "end of world is nigh" speech will be correct one day, but the 9th floor has been screwing pilots for years, nothing to see... move along....

Nothing's changed in CX;

- Fly to your contract
- Don't volunteer for anything
- If your roster is fatiguing, fix it, so it's not fatiguing. That's what is expected of a professional licence-holder.
- Enjoy pay day, but not too much as it might be your third to last.
- Never miss an opportunity to keep your mouth shut.
- They need you, just as much as you need them, so try not to hurt each other.
- Play the long game....

Several Airbus trainers resigned in the last month. Command training going back to the 777 is the rumour. Must be teetering if a few guys off the roster can cause this.

Not an ultimatum, just the news that 22nd May is the 'reorganisation' announcement

after max a year on type LHS.
Minimum 200 hours or completion of their probation (six months) - whichever is later.

I recall there were issues in the past when JF/O's were on the Tristar and Classic fleets as they were wound up. They required "special" conversions since they were JF/O's and not F/O's. But apparently these days, JF/O is just a Company rank. So in theory, a successful JF/O initial line check could immediately be followed by a conversion course.

KA L2 managers to be dragged from their offices to do some work, all of them TIREs. Command training for CX in addition to FO training already being done?
Some interesting announcements coming up on 22nd for sure.
Slow death of the Dragon or quickly finished off?

I think it has been well established that things are an absolute mess.

What happens later this month is anyones guess, but looking at the past performance of any management bunch, I think we can agree that any action will be minimal at best and virtually ineffective.

Just another kick of the can down the road.

Looks like the two hour coffee/lunch breaks have stopped - every manager is scrambling for his/her job up there trying to look busy.

Average Fool 11th May 2017 01:59

Combine the breaks and long lunches with all the public holidays and leave and one wonders how anything gets done at all.

Oh wait a minute......
