Withdrawing from CX
 

Hello,

I made some recent posts asking questions about CX's interview process. Based on the responses, recent posts about Cathay, etc. I've decided not to pursue Cathay anymore and stay here in the states.

Good decision.

I think to a large extent most of the pilots still employed by CX are slowly withdrawing from the company. After so many years of deliberately isolating the aircrew the company have successfully alienated their own employees to the point where many are disinterested and just do not care anymore. At a time , Time To Win, when the company needs all the staff to be engaged and pulling in the same direction they still persist in not negotiating with their own aircrew and not coming to an agreement about Rostering Practices. Despite the company stated need to do things differently they persist in their old strategy of confrontation which has lead to low morale and rising sickness levels.

Kenfoggo, every word you wrote is 100% the same issue at EK. It's actually sad what is happening to these companies.

I think that most of the pilots withdrew their enthusiasm many years ago . Now they just don't give a sh*!

We here can only hope things turn around...

Back in the 1980s it was the best job in the world for an airline pilot. Captains happily went back in the right hand seat to join Cathay, and doubled their pay compared to their previous job.

"A" scalers retired as £ sterling millionaires back when that was serious money.

Do any Captains still commute to work in their own helicopter ?

Oh man... We are so far from that these days.

Funny thing is... A lot of Hong Kong folk still believe this is the case, which the company constantly leverages whilst trying to sway public opinion to its cause.
