Brexit
Looking good for the LEAVE camp... Not sure about the implications for CX and our LHR / FRA based brethren, but I am convinced that Britain ought to be looking out for itself ahead of other European nations. Every country should do the same. Globalism is a flawed and unnatural attempt at utopia that politicians hide behind in their sneaky attempts to obtain increased power and influence.

Short term pain for long term gain (kind of like the decision facing us as well!). Britain will be seen to have made a historically correct decision as the EU continues to collapse under the weight of corruption, unaccountable elites and millions of ethnic immigrants. Rule Britannia. :ok:

Trafalgar,
if it's such a good day for the Empire, why does the Sterling keep collapsing against the USD and the Euro then ? Oh, sorry, I made a mistake, the Empire doesn't exist anymore, and perhaps soon the UNITED Kingdom does not either. |
The pound will recover and be a much stronger in the long run. Of that, I have no doubt. The Euro, on the other hand, will depreciate as it will require unlimited printing and negative interest rates to prop up the weaker debt-laden countries in the Euro zone. Who will pay? Germany, as always. How long before they have their own nationalist revolt? When that happens, watch out!!! The continent tends to become unstable, historically speaking.

And the reason for the pound to get stronger will be ?
A booming economy ? Barely, otherwise the British cooperations wouldn't have campaigned so much in favor to stay in. And btw, private debt, corporate debt included (to the government debt) the UK is one of the most indebted countries in Europe. So who will bail out the UK then ? Cameron just stepped down. I guess the UK will have the choice between the british version of Sanders and Trump in the form of Corbyn and Johnson. Will that make the pound stronger ? |
Frank. Why don't you save your concern for your own great failed nation. Effectively bankrupt (financially, morally and socially), it is spending itself into oblivion and tearing itself apart from a broken society, poorly educated population and social breakdown. It will make the fall of Rome seem like an afternoon children's pantomime. The UK is one of the healthiest economies on earth. It has creativity, industry, a resilient people and a sense of purpose. The countries that should be worried (other than your own) should be France, Italy, Germany etc. The EU is a bankrupt and corrupt entity, which will now start to fracture from the inside out. The UK can now watch that safely from the sidelines.

So what is the deal with regards to CX? The foreigners (Germans Spaniards etc) on a LHR base will have to leave as it will be illegal for them to 'work' without a British Passport/ working visa? Likewise the Brits on a Frankfurt base will also lose their Base?

Traf,
I agree with everything you say about the US of A. However, it's not my country ;-). . Many, including myself consider the UK as the American Extension into Europe or something like an american trojan horse. Strangely wherever the Americans go to war, the Brits will follow. |

Additionally Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Libya ?
And that's just out of my head for the last two decades. |

Our illegal immigration problems are out of control. |
So the Brits decide to leave the EU and all this thread can do is descend into America bashing? Pathetic.
In a related story, I see Scottland voted to stay. Will the Scotts have another separation vote to rejoin the EU? |
