So Where is the deal? It's still with..

the AOA's lawyers. The Company's legal team is in house and apparently signed off on it in good time whereas the AOA's legal team are paid by the hour. Apparently they have taken the opportunity to rack up the billable hours, given the size and scope of the package. Patience is wearing thin though.

flyingkiwi 16th Jun 2016 19:44

yeah lets not have our lawyers examine the deal with a fine tooth comb, of course the company lawyers are happy, any grey areas always get interpreted for them. Our lawyers are the final thing to protect us

kenfoggo 16th Jun 2016 22:06

The rumour is that the "negotiated" deal , the "tentative agreement" , has been withdrawn by the Company . If that is true then we are back to square one and awaiting a statement from the Company on what they are about to impose on the aircrew.

cxorcist 16th Jun 2016 23:07

Surely CX wouldn't be so foolish. If they do back away from a deal... the pain from CC, the training ban, and undoubtedly higher sickness levels goes through the roof. They might as well start selling airplanes and turning back leases. What a goatf$ck that would be!

Captain Dart 16th Jun 2016 23:08

Maybe they are about to cry 'poor'.

777300ER 17th Jun 2016 01:00

If the agreement was withdrawn without us even seeing it, I hope it wasn't due to interference by the GC. I have it on good word that this was a deal that was at least worthy of consideration by the membership. It would be a shame to see politics and egos prevent the membership from exercising their right to decide.

Anotherday 17th Jun 2016 02:00

On one hand I have, by joining the AOA, given the negotiating committee approval to negotiate on my behalf. On the other hand when they have done all they can, and I will always be grateful for that, maybe it's for me to decide if what the negotiated agreement is, is good enough. God knows negotiating with the company must be like banging your head against a brick wall while a Rottweiler chews at your nuts.
And on the third hand, having been there before, there's always the minuscule worry that committee members may reject something and use the membership as leverage for their own personal issues with the company. I only add this remote possibility because it's happened before.

White None 17th Jun 2016 03:55

That last one, minuscule or not, is a bit like saying, "There was a child abuser once... I wonder if?"
Can we please not invent possible crimes for our reps before any hint at all of anything other than hard work!
Deep breaths all round, this isn't the only forum and people are going off reservation left right and centre.
We retain the high moral ground; wait, see what comes, decide, act.

geh065 17th Jun 2016 04:32

Unfortunately, White House, that hint is there already. Has been a while.

White None 17th Jun 2016 14:26

look at all the possible scenarios they could throw at us
Hope you've got a big sheet of paper to write em all on 😂

rustyoldtin 17th Jun 2016 16:37

Whatever excuses.. People keep saying WE are the union.. Not THEM.. So even if its a one line update.. It's not our union if there hasn't been any communication

Penske 17th Jun 2016 16:54

The communication from both sides is truly pathetic. A bit like having a 4 hour delay after push-back without making an announcement.

Average Fool 17th Jun 2016 18:24

Is this really the airline I work for?

The "reigonal" airline I worked for 11 years ago displayed professionalism far above this place in every way.

On both sides.

And the expectations from us are???

Anotherday 17th Jun 2016 22:30

Done, signed, goes to members Monday or Tuesday for the vote

OK4Wire 18th Jun 2016 06:01

True, Dan, but that only applies to the NC - in the negotiating room - not the voters, surely?

For us it's either yea or nay.

HEALY 18th Jun 2016 06:16

Dan

dont accept the first offer.......so that the company can just push it thru anyway and make it policy? That fairytale idea might work elsewhere. I agree with previous, I think the NC have that job and the way GBFA is set up its the only real way I believe. Didn't we reject the latest pay offer last year but the company decided to put it in anyway? I'm not saying that whatever comes thru our inbox should have us all excited to vote yes for the bundle coming our way however if we aren't happy do you really think the company are going to jump on the next service to Manila for another love fest of talks.

TurningFinalRWY36 18th Jun 2016 23:45

Exactly, if we turn down this deal are people then willing to escalate further?? I dont think so and the GC knows this so it may be as good as it gets. There is no way thr company will cone back to the table and we will be waiting another 2 years

Flap10 19th Jun 2016 02:55

we will be waiting another 2 years
Does it really matter how long it will take? Were you making any sacrifices at all aside from working your contract? Or maybe you're a wannabe trainer hero and can't wait until the training ban is lifted. I doubt this agreement is good enough for me to vote YES. The fact that they clumped everything into one vote means I'll be voting NO just on principle.

Oval3Holer 19th Jun 2016 04:46

Sure you will, FLAPS...

Yeah, I've been sacrificing being paid a fair wage and having control of my roster and...

Trafalgar 19th Jun 2016 04:59

Flap, perhaps you can wait to actually see the offer? Good grief, voting no on 'principle'. How about voting on the merits of the offer? Just a thought....
