HK Express becomes first Hong Kong airline to ban shark fin cargo

Budget carrier HK Express will become the city’s first airline to ban shark fin cargo, the Sunday Morning Post has learned.

HK Express joins 35 airlines worldwide that have pledged to stop carrying shark fin, including British Airways, American Airlines, Qantas, Singapore Airlines and Emirates.

Cathay Pacific and Dragonair are among others that claim to follow a “sustainable” shark-fin policy, which Hong Kong’s flagship carrier described last year as “a more challenging approach than an outright ban, but it is part of our commitment to be consistent with the principles of sustainable development”.

It's a barbaric cruel and utterly unnecessary practice

It's like sustainable pilot farming.
What ass clown would think cutting a body part off and throwing the rest away was a ok thing? All while the poor shark is still living. Sickos are what those people are.

The real sicko's are the men/women in suits that come up with a term like 'sustainable shark fining' to justify padding their obscene bonuses even higher. There is apparently no money making strategy too awful to repel our management. :ugh:
