Under EASA FTL you can continue over the max discretion if delayed once airborne. Why divert to xxx which maybe unfamiliar , weather etc when you can reach destination
Politics aside = common sense

You are an oxymoron. Too smart by half.

At least you do conclude choosing not to use CD is unprofessional. But "that" is part of our profession?

At what level are you willing to stoop?

I am part of the team. But if you are suggesting that WE are not professional or do not act from principle, then you need to find another team.
I am ready to work to the contract to which the company and I agreed. I am not willing to go into discretion if the company chooses to take away the rostering agreement. If you find that beneath the profession, then you and I just won't agree.

I would remind you of the previous decades of effort CX pilots did just to get RP07. I am certain they did more than just refuse discretion. Are you saying they were unprofessional as well?

Like everything else... If you want discretion put a dollar value on it. How many bucks does the company save on NOT having the plane land in Kansai? 10,000$ + just to put the wheels on the ground.
They've reduced everything on their side to dollars and cents... Let's do the same.

Between 5 and 29 June only 4 guaranteed days off and flying only transpac flights. Single reserve days of 12 hours each before each flight and two O days after which means the flights can all be extended by 3 days !! Free of course.
Who can survive that month after month with a family?
