Cigna Global Expat Medical Insurance

Thinking about changing Medical Insurance provider, and would appreciate any comments from anyone who has had any experience of Cigna Global.

Thanks,

I am covered by CIGNA Global and happy with the experience. They are partnered with Quality Healthcare here, and for GP visits (on my package) I can co-pay 20% of the price to the Dr and Quality Healthcare will bill CIGNA for the rest. No claims forms!

For other, out of network care or more complicated/expensive claims you can submit online and they do deal with them promptly. I don't think I have waited more than 20 working days for payments.

Oh yeah, 'Quality Healthcare' is brilliant!

Not.

I've had no serious issues with QH - lots of locations and the Doctors seem fine - the queues can be longer than ideal though. If QH isn't your cup of tea, CIGNA covers healthcare with other providers too - just needs some paperwork on the claims side rather than all being handled by QH. Cigna paid our bills from Matilda & Canossa without any issues, plus some tests for my wife at Adventist.

QHC can be a nightmare & their "support" staff are hopeless, no doubt!
BUT<<<
If you are cockpit crew you might want to consider leaving them very carefully for one reason. If you every get seriously sick i.e. requiring major surgery or expensive treatments as many have over the years, the CX medical department along with QHC & your fleet office will look after you better than any commercial carrier can or will. CX are far from perfect but (at the moment) their commitment to your recovery is very very strong. Ask around there are dozens of Pilots who have been seriously looked after, under this arrangement, to the tune of several million dollars & many months & in some cases years off work!

Amen Stevie boy. Amen. I can attest to that.

Has anyone had any experience with the health insurance offered through Baymac? Their rates seem quite cheap for what they claim to cover.
