Cathay to buy Virgin Australia

Rumour doing the rounds on social media today

Virgin to be bought by Cathay

Avinthenews 4th Apr 2016 15:33

No chance, it'll stay on social media

Trafalgar 4th Apr 2016 15:44

CX doesn't have the imagination.

OK4Wire 4th Apr 2016 20:32

Well, it seems that Alaska Air has bought up Virgin America. (Bloomberg feed, don't have the link, sorry).

Average Fool 4th Apr 2016 21:31

It's the only way to get some decent management at CX

ACMS 4th Apr 2016 23:56

What..... you actually think they are any better ?!!!

You'll love their Pax in Y class all the time then won't you....

crwkunt roll 5th Apr 2016 04:00

They have to spend all that profit somewhere, can't share it with the staff! :ok:

qld330 5th Apr 2016 05:59

Pri 25 for them too?

Threethirty 5th Apr 2016 06:17

"Cathay Virgin" and "Cathay Dragon Virgin" of course

cxorcist 5th Apr 2016 06:29

The callsign "Cathy Virgin" has appeal if you're into that kind of thing.

"Virgin Dragon" sounds a bit risqué.

Frogman1484 5th Apr 2016 07:37

I prefer Virgin Cathy and Virgin Dragon😂😂😂

Stuart Sutcliffe 5th Apr 2016 08:41

It would have been nice to see a more expansive airline name, perhaps something like Virgin' On The Flippin' Ridiculous?

swh 5th Apr 2016 09:45

Pacific Blue to be re-branded Kiwi Pacific with a brushstroke fern
Cathay Australia for domestic similar livery to KA
"Cathay" to replace Virgin Australia International similar livery to CX.

Clearly whoever wrote that article didn't see the Bloomberg interview, or they'd know there's no way a deal like that would come out of the 'brains' running CX.

Soul planet 5th Apr 2016 14:31

welcome on board Australia Dragon :O

I agree!
The assclowns on the 9th floor couldn't merge a lemonade stand into the operation. Never mind another airline.

This article is total BS. There is no Cathay Spokeswoman commenting.
