Per AIC 26/08 contact the CAD Personnel Licensing Office on (852) 2769 8653 or email [email protected] for your request.

Hey Float, Una Mas;

The other way is to really f$%k up and actually prove that you can pass the exams?

Oh no, don't tell me that the exams are crap and that you really do not need any of that stuff because you have got a licence...

UnaMas 29th Mar 2016 09:18

Thanks SWH.

And Actus..... I really have no idea what you are trying to say, simply chasing some study material for the ATPL conversion. Already have an ATPL so want to know what is involved in the process to swap it to HK.

Perhaps you don't understand the reference to Vol 8's...

JMock 29th Mar 2016 13:57

yeah, no one ever uses vol 8

seriously

actus reus 30th Mar 2016 00:26

UnaMas,

As you acknowledge, swh gave you the reference for the syllabi.

FLGOFF,

As N22 refers, in CX slang, 'Vol 8' = 'answers to exam questions', not 'study materials'.

UnaMas 30th Mar 2016 23:15

I wonder how those not currently in CX would know what the inside jokes are....

Thanks to those who have a genuine interest in helping out,

As I am not in CX, I have only heard on the grapevine that these Vol 8's exist. Nothing wrong with going in prepared. I would take a wild guess that anyone taken any exams, CPL or ATPL, would have utilised some form of question bank at some stage to help them in their studies.

CX cadets, within the last 3 years, go to Adelaide and study the EASA syllabus. CX have made arrangements with the HKG CAD to test to that standard.

For those that are not CX, we must complete the much older exams (cadets from 3 years ago would have also done these). Yes there is a syllabus to follow, but it is very broad and includes some prehistoric content along with a question bank written by the most mysterious bookworm.

If anyone has completed, in Hong Kong, those exams I quoted in the first post, I would very much appreciate your help and feedback.

Cheers,

Did you ever get an answer to your question? I'm curious if the exams taken in Adelaide by CX pilots are different than the one you take at HKCAD building? Thanks!

If you currently have a EASA ATPL and if you get a job in Hong Kong
You need to do all the subject to convert your EASA ATPL to get Hong Kong ATPL ?

oz_faf81 2nd Nov 2016 07:30

Nope,

You'll have to take only:
Air Law paper A, Air Law paper B (open book), Performance transport. That's it.

The exams a person needs to complete is on a case by case arrangement, CAD also has experience requirements that need to be met.

604driver 23rd Dec 2016 01:31

Hi Float,

Did you ever get any study material?

604driver 24th Dec 2016 05:10

Does anyone have any material or know where to get it?

oz_faf81 24th Dec 2016 06:37

The company that will hire you will give you everything you need.

Don't worry too much, there are almost no differences with EASA...

Natca 11th Jan 2017 09:02

Either one, both are worthless job less atpls and hk knows youll be suck here for life working on a worthless contract to drag all of us down.

volare_737 11th Jan 2017 11:28
