Mentorship

Hi there, this is Yeung, 28, made up my mind last year to pursue my dream to become a pilot . Over-aged and not eligible for DACP, now awaiting AAEP 2016 enrollment, I am desperate to look for mentorship.
Occasional email exchange will be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Search for a guy on here called DanBuster or even CurtainRod. Send them a PM. They will be very happy to mentor you..

Withe greatest of respect Mr/Miss/Mstr? Yeung...you have come to the wrong place...you need to go and see a qualified medical practitioner to discuss your problem.

Here you go. Probably the best training document in the entire airline.

Dear Yeung,

I do feel the need to apologize about the cold reception here.
I must say that you have had the misfortune of addressing a particularly sensitive query to some of the most vocal individuals of one of the most embittered group of pilots on the planet at the moment.

Take this as you will, but do remember that every one of us poor whining, disgruntled sod on here was once an enthusiastic and passionate young man/woman like you.
It just so happens that the current state of affairs in the business, all over the World but particularly so here, does not favor an encouraging outlook on the profession.
Many of us, myself included, would rather offer people like you the chance to realize that you would be about to embark on a severely diminished career the demise of which you, ironically, would partly be the cause of as your enthusiasm is likely to blind you to the reality of the situation.
The truth is that the depreciated contract you will eventually sign will be a small part of what is an industry-wide drive to cheapen what once used to be a rewarding and enjoyable profession.
Do as you wish, but you might find the mood is not particularly stellar and support from your future peers may not be very fervent...

Your enthusiasm deserves far more than what CX can offer you. Take your passion, as we all once had (& by and large still do have), and focus it toward forging a career that you can be proud of and not thrown away at airline who spits on your passion as a means to line their own pockets & cheapen the industry.

Good luck.
