...what? Sorry, I'll get my coat. |
Taking up a seat and eating/drinking free food and water in order to look after UMs (mostly pilot's UMs)??
Are you kidding?? ( UMs=Unaccompanied Minors for those without kids) |

Back in the day...
CX deployed wives of CX employees as Flying Mum's to escort children, not necessarily theirs, on the children's return to HK/UK or wherever the demand was, at the start and end of school terms. I can't recall the ratio of Mum's to children though. As I say, back in the day... |
That lady can cut my chicken anytime...
|
Started way before 2006.
|
Started way, way back in the 80's. Ratio was about 1 Mum to 7 kids and was a very popular service. Initially the kids were almost exclusively UK nationals at boarding schools, then lots of HK Chinese kids attending UK schools, then finally a smattering of Mainland kids doing the same. Kids had to be between the ages of 7 and 13 I recall.

Circa 1986ish IIRC
|
Clarified that then.

I'll have the pasta, not the chicken...or maybe the pasta AND the chick?!
|
Lovely rack.....of lamb please.

Silberfuchs/flying mums-started 2006
No-it started in 1976-overseen by Staff Dept birds-and became a bit of a jolly-some of the "Mums" appointed, had in fact-no kids at school abroad (or any where-in some case)-just an opportunity to get to U.K. or OZ.

Don't recall it being anything of the sort Tony, but I'll happily stand aside while you retch in the gutter.
