News just in on the 'Military' section that Capt Louis McQuade ex 777 and surely one of the good guys has just succumbed to another heart attack and passed away yesterday.
Funeral arrangements TBD but I will be there to say my sad farewell to this 'gentleman of gentlemen'. Sincere and desperately felt condolences to his lovely family at this terrible time. He deserved longer on the planet as he enhanced everything he did and touched with his lovely wit and smile. Rest In Peace dear boy. So Sad. |
That's sad news, Arfur.
How old was he when he passed? |
R.I.P. 'Badger', you were an absolute gentleman. My heartfelt condolences to Penny and the Family.
Oasis - Louis was 61. He celebrated his 61st birthday, three weeks ago. |
Aah Louis, Louis, Louis. What a great shame. An all round gent. Sadly missed.

What tragic news. One could not find a finer gentleman, pilot and true friend. A huge loss to the world at large but especially to all who new him and treasured his friendship.
My heart goes out to Penny and all the family. A truly sad time. Many glasses will be raised in your honour at the F4 TDPU. Louis, go in peace my old friend. You've left a huge hole in our lives. |
What sad news. Louis was always a pleasure to fly with and socialise with.
A great loss to all his family and friends. My condolences to his family. |

Sorely missed but never forgotten.
No finer example of how to keep your head while all others about you are losing theirs and part of a breed that will never grace the front door of this company again. Mine's a coldie mate ...see you soon enough in a better place....the OFMC Bar...and make sure Ray and Mark Hanna are there. As a footnote, there is a "u" in McQuade. It was all about "u" with him. Per ardua ad astra. |
RIP Louis

R.I.P Louis,

Quite correct mate. Sorry about the mistake. Sorted now. Thanks. |
So sorry to hear the news about Louis. I echo all the comments here about Louis being a genteman and always a pleasure to spend time in his company. When his name appeared on the roster I knew I had a days flying to look forward to. My condolences to his family.
Checks complete. RIP my friend. |
For complete funeral arrangements see Post 31 on the Military threads. Basically Friday 16th Oct @ St Mary's Church, Church Lane, Horncastle LN9 5HW.
1100. Very sad day. |
My thanks to those that supplied me with more up to date information, of which I was unaware I think an apology to AT is in order. However as I said in my earlier post words do matter
A very sad outcome for his family my thoughts go out to them |
Enormous turnout at the funeral on Friday. Church absolutely full of friends and family to say farewell to a fine Officer and gentleman. Silence to begin with followed by the bagpipes as Louis' coffin was carried in. Absolutely heartbreaking moment. Magnificent readings and eulogy by his children and brother. He would have been so proud.
Thoughts with Penny and the family. RIP my friend. |
