KA to get more CX aircraft.

Here's a great rumor...

KA to get the CX 777 classics in 2016.

oriental flyer 9th Aug 2015 13:06

I'm glad that they have more crew than we do

swh 9th Aug 2015 13:28

Makes sense with the comments about delays into China and cutting frequency however increasing capacity.

boocs 9th Aug 2015 14:09

Only if they come with hats, otherwise no dice.

cxorcist 9th Aug 2015 15:32

Of course, yes, this makes sense. Start a sub-fleet at KA where there is very little Boeing experience and create pilot shortage in their Airbus network system. They will get lower pilot utilization and increased costs, but since when does that really matter for Swires. They are into power, not money.

Too bad about that ironclad scope clause.
I have heard CX aircraft using KA callsigns.

Also a while ago KA freighters were using CX callsigns.

So how is that ironclad scope clause working out for you?

Gnadenburg 10th Aug 2015 00:22

Does the flight deck seating on the 777 recline further than Airbus?

That would really excite the KA guys awaiting flow control in China or 2 man sub-continent red eye returns.

Does that ironclad scope clause agreement include hand me downs?

Lowkoon 10th Aug 2015 00:26

Would it really be worth introducing an entire new type for an extra 30 seats?

Doubt it. Just send more of your clapped out 330s that have paid themselves off 200 times.

Avinthenews 10th Aug 2015 01:18

The iron clad was a joke I'm guessing.

The 6? 777-300s have just shy of 400 seats and the 772s probably just help the case for the fleet size.

ACMS 10th Aug 2015 06:48

I tell you what if i was in KA I wouldn't mind receiving Cx's 5 772's they are well maintained and good machines. Better than a clapped out A330.

cpdude 10th Aug 2015 08:06

1. Freighters were NEVER on any Scope Clause until the Canadians placed it in their Scope Clause!

2. Under the scope clause, CX can transfer or sell the aircraft to Dragonair as they wish. The scope Clause only covers aircraft that are owned and operated by the Company under their own AOC.

Scope Clauses are iron clad when you understand what protections they afford.

you still can't spot a super obvious joke?
You should have added a  or an :ugh:.

;)

Lowkoon 11th Aug 2015 05:24

Scribbled in pencil on a post it note stuck to your RPA.

hkgyyzhkg 11th Aug 2015 13:56

Bigger aircraft is nice, but those chinese airspace restrictions will just become a bigger headache with bigger aircrafts (more capacity) but less frequency.

Wouldn't it be easier if they create a system where they get to keep the valuable slots and frequencies, pretend to operate those flights, but cancel them and push those passengers to earlier (but delayed) flights if a delay does arise?

Lowkoon 11th Aug 2015 14:06

Or take the train?

Frogman1484 11th Aug 2015 23:15

...or even better...don't go!:ok:

Lowkoon 12th Aug 2015 14:08

If only we had a choice frogman...

JY9024 19th Aug 2015 15:08

Confirmed...

1 CX A330 going to KA in December..

Fly747 19th Aug 2015 23:29

Cathay Dragon

Following the rebranding announcement, which is due soon, it will the first aircraft to be painted in the new Cathay Dragon livery.

Pucka 20th Aug 2015 02:39

White fuselage and green 7cx11 on tail?

crwkunt roll 20th Aug 2015 03:14

CX has too many aircraft already. Will be less of them to worry about crewing.

Lowkoon 20th Aug 2015 05:48

Beware Cathay bearing gifts... They might be sending an old 330, but for their efforts, they will be taking the only 'new' 330 KA has. Net gain? Zero.

Fly747 20th Aug 2015 07:19

That is what I meant too Silberfuchs!

VR-HFX 20th Aug 2015 08:14

Looks pretty anaemic. Why continue to persevere with white?

If they went back to a British racing green it could work.

Solber, not only the salt & pepper shakers...KA still carries playing cards! Paxed down to BKK the other day and the ISM was as surprised as I to find they have been discontinued. Carrying on a recent tradition, the beancounters know the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

Lowkoon 20th Aug 2015 08:23

We should go all pollution grey, with black soot streaks coming from every window and panel. Wait, we already have that.

JY9024 20th Aug 2015 08:29

The Green paint is something some dude did on photoshop on a blog!! Go ahead and google it in images, there are some really creative ones out there..

The 330 that KA is getting is newer than the "newest"!! So I've been told.
It's not additional either, well at least not in the short term.
All the old ex CX Classic 330's are going into the shed for some life extension program so this is just to cover the downtime.

KA320..3 HR flight..no video..2 boxes of "food"..the packaging exceeded the food..which was inedible..no cushions or blankets...best regional carrier?..my r's...

Lowkoon 21st Aug 2015 03:06

A seemless product pucka! Thats how it was sold to the board. :}

Australia2 22nd Aug 2015 15:21

Exorcist,

Very little Boeing experience ? A little arrogant possibly, we didn't all come from Air Macau.

Honestly, all we "kinda senior folk" at KA want is to retire on our current contracts, protect our junior brothers and have NOTHING to do with the way CX views you, how you view CX and the solidarity with which you all approach this significant time with your T&C's under massive attack.

I hope it gets better for us all.

Lowkoon 23rd Aug 2015 08:34

Maybe if we get bought by Xiamen airlines we are in with a sniff at 78's. CX cant handle the 350 intro, imagine the flat spin they would be in with another new type in the group! Called the dream dream dream... liner for a reason, more like the the "dream on" liner.

Oz 2

Spot on. Love ya work

Follow the Follow Me 24th Aug 2015 06:32

We may not be Boeing experts anymore, since you took our 747 fleet, but we have a few tips on Contract Compliance. Was the last lot 4 years and prior to that I can't even remember ?

BlunderBus 26th Aug 2015 15:06

We'll all be air China in 5 years when the axe falls for the last vestige of colonialism in hk

@Pucka

KA320..3 HR flight..no video..2 boxes of "food"..the packaging exceeded the food..which was inedible..no cushions or blankets...best regional carrier?..my r's.
I would say KA is one of the best regional carrier in the world. In North America, I think almost all airlines (?) charges extra for food. And yes the food would be over priced, and there are no cushions or blankets.

And most airlines like BA, AA, DL, UA etc, all of their regional flights don't have PTV (AA and DL are adding PTV in some of their aircraft). That includes 757, 767, 777...etc. In fact, UA and AA didnt even have PTV in their long haul fleet till recently.
