Second Sydney for 777
Cathay Pacific adds second Boeing 777 onto Sydney-Hong Kong - Australian Business Traveller
Cathay Pacific will add a second Boeing 777 onto the Sydney-Hong Kong route from October 1 to cater for increased demand, especially for onwards flights to Europe |
Crews???? I hear this flight is often changed back to a A330 due to crew shortage.
Next the Sydney over staffed (CN) freighter crews will be given 777 courses :} |
They could be doing 2 crew on 139 and 100...
|
|
So will it stay 777 or will it go back to all Airbus when the 350's start arriving? |
My previous comment may hold more truth than I expected, the freighter base may be shut down once the 777 takes hold in Sydney and Melbourne, it will easily cover the freight task.
|
As it has already in Manchester.
|
therefore I doubt it will go A350. Although since those will be more economical to operate long haul than the triple, they'll probably stick to long haul stuff and let the tractors do some shorter stuff. I can see the 77W going long term to SYD, and probably picking up a couple more OZ flights too. Now all they have left to do is 'convince' the CAD it's 'safe' to do 2 man crew to Dingoland across the night. |
CCA,
The freighter base may close but it won't be because of the 777. Most of the freight carried in and out of the country won't fit in the 777 hold. |
Enjoy that two pilot operation at 0.84 - 0.85 IMN boys (but if it's any comfort it's all ahead of the Bus drivers on the A350).
