multiple day trips?
Hello girls and guys
On the pax 744 do you still get to do multiple day trips? If so could somebody supply a sample day trip or 3-4 day trip. thanks in advance. Cx256 |
Quite simple really.
The flight time limitations are used as performance targets to produce multiple day trips consisting of reporting for duty early in the morning, arriving at a hotel (after a long bus ride) late at night, minimum rest, long bus ride back to the airport, and repeat; endure multiple roster disruptions and eventually returning home late at night on the last day. |
"Get to"?
Like it's a privilege? |
raven11 thanks for ur reply, what is the minimum rest period? . Average Fool ok do they get you to do multiple day trips. i ask cause there are not many 744 routes left on the pax network and they seem to depart late afternoon then return next morning so would they put you on another sector that day?

multiple day trips?
Hi
I don't work for cathay so not really able to. |
With a declining future.
Update at 0420GMT 19NOV14 As of 19NOV14, Cathay Pacifics tentative 2015 Summer schedule shows the carrier continues to shrink Boeing 747-400 operations. Tentatively planned 747-400 operation from 29MAR15 to 24OCT15 as follow. Hong Kong Bangkok 2 weekly Hong Kong Kuala Lumpur 1 weekly Hong Kong Manila 2 weekly Hong Kong Shanghai Pu Dong 3 weekly Hong Kong Taipei Taoyuan 16 weekly Hong Kong Tokyo Haneda 2 daily From 25OCT15, tentatively planned 747-400 operation shows further downsize to: Hong Kong Taipei Taoyuan 1 weekly Hong Kong Tokyo Haneda 1 daily Additional changes to planned Boeing 747-400 operation is possible in the next few months. |
Thank guys for your replys
Would this be the shortest Hong Kong – Sapporo SUN 0915-1450 Sapporo - Hong Kong SUN 1600-2045 Cheers Cx256 |

I wouldn't call that a "multiple day" trip. That "day return" is done in one day!
|
Not sure if you are taking the piss with that question but just in case you are not; the Sapporo day return is one of the longest day returns. Add 70 minutes of duty before departing Hong Kong, and 30 minutes after returning, you'll see its a long day at work for 2 pilots.
Take a look at a map or chart. If you look to see where Hong Kong is situated relative to the city pairs you will see that flights to Manila and Taipei will be the shortest working days. Cheers hugo |
Hugo Peroni the IV - I was was not taking piss sorry you may think that. I was talking about days working in a row not length of a sectors it self. I should of said TPE not CTS which would be the shortest (i think).
