Pollution revisited

I know the air pollution is terrible here at the best of times but without checking the index which always lies anyway; does it seem worse than usual to anyone? I can taste a really acrid, plasticky, almost sweet taste at the back of my mouth. I can't help thinking that a few years down the line we'll all be paying dearly for living in this toxic place. Is it worth it?

According to the SCMP today 7 million people died as a direct result of air pollution in 2012 , most of those in China and India both places with disgusting air quality
Companies in China are having to pay more to expats who are choosing to leave their families at home and commute . Some are taking it in the form of salary others more time off and free commuting tickets .
So as to your question yes it is harming your health in a big way probably more than you realize , we will all pay the price in our later years

On the plus side, with the ever increasing retirement age and the pollution-induced early mortality rate, we don't need to care about saving for retirement anymore!
:ok:

The big problem is 330, similar to smoking cigarettes, you will not know if you are doing irrepairable damage until it's too late. I feel sorry for the kids who have no choice in the matter but to live where their parents do.

WHO

Aslo, remebering late 2013 when the World Health Organization stated that air pollution causes cancer, and this was from cancer.org.

How about the 2 people in Korea who got AML from working in a semiconductor plant. The court ruled that their ilness was indeed caused by toxins in the factory.

Veggies from China, cheap but with that extra something, yum!

And incase we didn't already know....

"Pollution is severe in three major industrial zones, the Yangtze River Delta in east China, the Pearl River Delta in south China and the northeast corner that used to be a heavy industrial hub," the agency said.
