Almost sure it´s going to be EWR, specially now that SQ is leaving the route, the New Jersey area is very convinient for thousands of travellers over JFK.

Second option could be SEA or BOS and far behind I think is DFW and MIA, however for DFW I think we have more chances to see AA than CX and MIA is too long too thin too make a real profit out of it.

cxorcist 11th Aug 2013 21:37

Migair,

I agree with you on all but AA jumping into the HKG market from DFW. I very much doubt AA is looking to expand into CX territory at the moment with all the merger stuff going on. They would be very grateful if CX ran the route though so they could carry the Oneworld connections to Central and South America from DFW.

I think the announcement will be EWR (yes, much more convenient from much of Manhattan's west side and the Jersey suburbs). My guess is that SEA and BOS will be next on the list with a possibly shuttle between SEA and DFW for AA feed southbound.

Newark it is. Another ULR layover squarely within the 18-30hr bracket no doubt.

Master Caution 13th Aug 2013 14:13

Or Gatwick, or Avalon, or Orly, or Ontario........

Frogman1484 13th Aug 2013 14:16

That's not a new route...that's the same route with a different airport! For cryinging a bucket, you can catch a shuttle bus from JFK to this "new Destination"!!!

cxorcist 13th Aug 2013 14:51

No doubt the crews based in NY will be required to cover both interchangeably.

migair54 13th Aug 2013 16:56

It's quicker from NWK to Manhattan than it is from JFK.

No doubt we will be staying at the Holiday Inn Prison View in lovely Elizabeth, NJ!! What a delightful hotel.

Apparently staying Brooklyn Marriott. They will mix up the patterns.

dogleg 18th Aug 2013 04:39

Yeah, that way they can make our layovers even shorter! Just like the SFO split duty -- just ask the 777 pilots. CX doesn't believe in Flight Time Limitations, only Flight Time Targets. Particularly when it comes to rest periods...

Kasompe 20th Aug 2013 20:06

New route....... Newark! Wow, somebody REALLY stepped out of the cubicle on that one! New Route!! It will be intergalactic travel next!:D

ColonelAngus 21st Aug 2013 04:34

I think Branson's already got that one wrapped up!

Kasompe 21st Aug 2013 05:00

True! But Branson has neither the flair or the style or the charisma that our lot have!
You watch, first New York, Newark, LA, Longbeach, then the stars!!:ok:

Delta starting Seattle - Hong Kong

Why not Cathay?

Delta Launches New Seattle Service to Seoul and Hong Kong - Yahoo! Finance

broadband circuit 22nd Aug 2013 02:52

In typical CX fashion, Seattle's "on the list" for when the 350 gets here.

Notice they're using a 767 to ICN, and a 330-200 to HKG. Interesting choices...

crwkunt roll 22nd Aug 2013 04:14

If CX had a base in Seoul they'd probably send a 330 to Seattle as well. It's only a 8- 9 hour flight.
