Cert of Validation foreign licence

I want to apply for flight test and ground test to get a validation of my usa FAA ppl fixed wing to fly in HK.

The application booking form to CAD amongst other matters , asks to send them a copy of RT licence? I don't have one as do not need with my FAA licence.

Anyone can kindly help with this - do I simply not send as do not have and CAD knows all about FAA licences so ok ? Thanks in advance to those kind enough to reply to my post .

Contact the FAA Airmen Certification Branch out in OK City. They will mail you one. It may cost you some administrative fee but its not anything significant. It's been many years since I've done it but that was how I remeber the process. That request process may be something you do online now but in either event those are the people who you get it from.

Radio license

I'm not sure this is still required in the states but here's what I did years ago.

You need to get a Restricted Radio Telephone OPERATORs License.

Here are the instructions from the FCC website:
http://wireless.fcc.gov/commoperators/rp.html

You must first register and establish an account:
https://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/coresWeb/regEntityType.do

or go directly for FCC form 605 to apply on-line (and establish an account). You use form 159 to pay the FCC.
Forms | FCC.gov

Read the instructions carefully! You shouldn't have any issues if you do.

Or sit the Hk ppl rt exam which costs about hkd 800 and you can ace with your eyes closed.

I may be wrong, but I seem to remember that The HKCAD doesn't really issue licenses, unless you have a "sponsor" - basically meaning an employer.

Good luck with it and kindly let us know if you managed to do this without a "sponsor" (if thats the case).

I don't believe that there is any issue with the issue of a CAD PPL (which is presumably what Trimbleasia is after).

The sponsor letter is required for CPL/ATPL.
