Instead of that propaganda page that gossips about our valued pax,

Try this http://www.pprune.org/fragrant-harbo...start-end.html

Cabin top 1 (jumped 8 places up) but overall airlines dropped to no.6?????

- numerous scandals and FAU organization leaks
- threats to throw coffee at pax and threats to continue no smile
- existing pax complaining about declining service
- even a fabulous gossip page gossiping at its best (first in history)
- being one of the survey participant to boost votes asked by a Top Ten

Wow, still better service than Asiana and ANA and SQ?

goathead 19th Jun 2013 22:56

Looks like to me overall a continual slip down the rankings ....slow and steady .Shameful.
You won't see them gloating about that .Nor should they be surprised......

Soul planet 20th Jun 2013 00:26

Taken from a CC's facebook
"We are the CHAMPION !?????? 究竟是最佳空中服務員還是最佳演員哈哈哈哈" (We are the CHAMPION !?????? In fact is this best cabin crew or best acting awards? HAHAHAHAHA)

Even they themselves are in disbelief. Honestly? Those who chose to believe are those who want to be distracted from the negative media and threats they portrayed throughout this whole year. Still as kongy, a voting game doesn't change the attitude or up a service.

GANKER 20th Jun 2013 03:42

didnt realise running back and forth at top speed down the isles in business class, to get the service done as quickly as possible, was an actual prerequisite to win!

While I was in despatch, reading about this prestigious award befalling us, they were already putting up the banners, with in hours. Must have had them ready for the last 10 years, that's why they don't date stamp the banners :-)

I don't blame the crew for their lack of training, or working without a significant pay increase for more than 10 years, or for seeing their contracts slowly shredded year after year.

If anything, the award, for what it's worth--if anything at all--is a simple testimony to the quality of people who still manage to do the job in spite of the not inconsiderable headwinds management continues to create.

The unfortunate impact of CX winning anything at all is that management continue to see some sort of justification in their backwardass policies and will only ramp it up.

Good job gals and guys and good luck. You're gonna need it.

Soul planet 20th Jun 2013 22:27

Unfortunately, skills can be trained but attitude cannot. And unfortunately, their attitude is still as KONGY or not worse.

I have never seen any crew with such ignorance, ever, as compared to our asian counterparts, or other worldwide airlines per se. Its funny to see how they are presented in the ads but when reality is - calling each other bitches behind their backs, making fun of Indian pax, gloating at JPN and KRN pax or staff for their bad English, laughing at Mainland pax, calling ISMs brunt bitches for giving them a hard time when they are the ones who couldn't perform up to standards, and assuming senior crew for being jealous of their young age (well, they are the ones jealous of those who can marry to a rich male!), and worst, ignorantly thinking that red uniform makes them similar to Virgin Atlantic. Are you serious? Even Ronald McDonald can dress in red! They are not a teeny bit near to VIR! Goodness Gracious! That is why I never blame our team culture going from bad to worse.

If they could be a teeny more humble and less ignorant, I assume kitty city could be a better place. But then again, its upstairs who run the company, now you see what you can do with money. Another award from Next Magazine (run in HKG) and not surprisingly, cx was the sole and only winner for the past 17 years straight. Sometimes, you start to wonder what other games and gimmicks can big companies do with money.
Yeah, they will need this "sweet appetizer" this year, but do you think the kongyness will be gone?

SKYTRAX apply rigorous authentication for processing and checking of user reviews

I don't think I will bother submitting reports to airlinequality any more after them twice throwing a little wobbly after I submitted a report, with them emailing me to say :

"Due to the comments submitted being sent from a country IP address that
does not match the stated location, our web section cannot authenticate
this and it might be deleted."
Yes, indeed, this is an airline based website and people travel, so I might be a resident of country 'A', and having just flown to country 'B', I'm submitting my report from there. Or, as in my case, I'm a resident of countries 'A' and 'B', and am submitting my report from country 'C' or even 'D' This seems to be a big deal to them. I find it shortsighted, pathetic and childish, it's almost as if they are trying to catch people out.
I know perfectly well that my IP address is visible and tells anyone where I am (unless I use a proxy/VPN, and I don't as I have nothing to hide.)

Does anyone else think this is pathetic or is it just me?

I have replied to them :

This has come up before.

If you don't want feedback from me that is up to you, but it does seem odd that a website dedicated to international travel won't accept reviews from an IP address that does not match the stated location. By definition, you are dealing with an internationally mobile panel of people who may live in one country, or more than one, and submit reports from others. Is that so unusual?

I find it rather disconcerting that an airline would divulge information about passengers to Skytrax/Airlinequality, even if the information only consists of 'We have no record of Rachel Page' on our flight. Anyone agree or is it just me?

cpdude 4th Jan 2014 04:38

Yawn.

Yonosoy Marinero 4th Jan 2014 04:44

Still trying to make sense of all of this?

Skytrax is made by airlines, for airlines, and whoever puts more money in the pot gets the award, barring a previous 'gentleman's agreement'.

No offense to the girls. They DO do a fine job.

CX565 from Osaka to Hong Kong, 20th Sep 13. This flight stop over is in Taipei. Staff on this flight not very courteous and not very helpful. When we reached Taipei, the crew just hid, they acted as if they had nothing to do with the passenger, cleaners hopped on anto d clean up. I just didn't realise the service from Business to Economy could can be so different. :ugh: Flew from Sydney to Hong Kong - very disappointed. The seat is comfortable, but the service was quite poor. Some cabin crews were rude with no smile. The catering was disappointing and the portion was quite small. Won't fly this airline again.

I guess there is an easy winner here... (Drumrolls ) you know global warming is taking place when Air Asia deliver better service.

No money no talk lah!
Invested millions in advertising, but one fanfare with typical cx service is able to make thousands start turning away. Below every uniform is the same average person you see around mongkok or shum shui po. But why ParknShop lady more friendly when they work more hours and i spend less....... Cannot! :=

HotDog 17th Jan 2014 09:41

Soul Planet, if you are so unhappy with Cathay service, why don't you fly with some other airline? Looking at your other posts, you obviously delight in being negative about everything so why don't you embark on rubbishing some new victim for a change?

wongsuzie 17th Jan 2014 09:54

I think I got it: either she/he is a spouse of CC or infact a CC herself.

Could be retired.A Singaporean/Malaysian?

Very bitter,angry person.

Hates CX but still...

Flying Lawyer 17th Jan 2014 17:56

Soul Planet's description of Cathay cabin crew is very different from my own experience.

CX254 London - Hong Kong 26 Oct : Superb
CX197 Hong Kong - Auckland 27 Oct : Superb
CX104 Adelaide - Melbourne - Hong Kong 1 Dec : Very Good
CX255 Hong Kong - London 9 Dec : Very Good

I don't know precisely how Skytrax reaches its conclusions but in my view the award to the cabin crew is well-deserved,
as is Cathay's '5 Star Airline' rating. :ok:
