heard the rumor some of them did STI after 7 months on line? anyone heard anything?

I'd rather have a career with housing than 4 million, but the cash in hand is a very nice feather in the cap. These guys should take the money, the quick upgrade, get their time in the right seat, and leave for greener pastures.

Quite a high arrogant horse, eh Ombon? When we received the congratulatory phone call, not to mention also in the final interview stage, we were assured of a start date with respect to the order in which we were deemed successful in the interview and therefore position as DESO. Then CX started taking & offering cadets start dates for a good 2 years after in lieu of offering "us" a start date. That is, they hadn't even started their stage 1 process let alone even applied while we had already passed the interview process and were still waiting, and waiting, and waiting.... You and your mates jumped the queue simply by being able to grab your ankles the first and the best while saying thank you.

Maybe they were a little easier to train and get on line as opposed to the wet nursing that is required by others? Maybe they signed a contract a few years before you?

So jumping some sort of list, you say? You signed up for this the second you agreed to the raping of CX pilot terms & conditions. It'll happen for the rest of your career and you haven't a right in the world to complain since you endorsed the lowering of terms and conditions.

A bit harsh Chinabeached....

What has happened is sadly all to typical....no one is happy.

The instructor pilots had to put some water in their wine and accept a compromise. At the same time the other second officers who had planned on an upgrade date will now see that date delayed.

Instead of one group being happy and the other group being entirely unhappy...everyone involved is not amused.

Wow Chinabeached, you sound like a grumpy B scale with full housing.... which actually is not a bad deal at all compared to the C scalers you see now. So what if you got jumped a couple of seniority numbers, i am sure the locals/c scalers that jumped in front of you would of gladly let you keep your position in the queue if they were told they will get full housing in doing so. However the rumour regarding the instructor cadets is just ludicrous. A lump sum of 4M (from the rumour mill)plus JFO upgrade in 6 months after they start their induction? I have no idea what they signed when they were hired as instructor cadets nor do i know exactly what they are getting now, but obviously there is a dispute over the terms signed and the terms they were given once they were eligible to come back to CX. To have this rumoured settlement offered to the instructor cadets though is just crazy and i know AOA have been fighting hard to get them this settlement, but i am wondering why the AOA is fighting this hard for non-members but are absolutely useless in fighting for their actual paying members with regarding to issues such as 25 year housing, basing closures or even an improvement to the current c scale contracts. :ugh::ugh:

VERY far from a grumpy B-Scale CX pilot. If you'd read or researched first before pouncing you'd know the answer.

So what? The C-Scalers who raced to take what others refused due professional integrity think they now deserve respect or their place at CX protected? And the AOA fighting for non-members rights? We saw NOTHING but cheap lip service via updates from the AOA regarding a stance, position let alone action against C-Scale. The AOA is supposed to be there to protect the present & future of Officers' terms & conditions, but only if it affects their own back pockets it seems (or your daddy is a member / senior CX pilot willing & able to take up the mantel).

The AOA did NOTHING to contact let alone offer one ioata of support or defence to the succesful DESO applicants waiting for so many years. They sat & watched C-Scale be introduced & did absolutely nothing. In fact the AOA's stance was deafening in their silence. RA65? That too was OK by them as it suited so many of the "them" as well. I don't see you guys whining about its effects on seniority & career profession?

Every down turn in rights, loss of job security, reduction in basic terms & conditions you all willingly endorsed the second you scurried to accept C-Scale. It was only a matter of time before it would start as predicted a few thousand posts ago & even years ago via the other thread(s). Now you want protection & respect against the ar$e you kissed?

Bring on DEFO's. So what if they undercut your job, your salary or career? You so willingly did it to others, & what's more staunchly defended your right to do so.

"But it's a great opportunity for me under my circumstances" says the DEFO.... Sound familiar? Karma is a bitch.

As for being amused? Nah.... Just sitting back after a long flight watching the big wheel turn.

There won't be any improvement to the "C" scale contracts until there is an improvement in the experience and quality of the recruit. Just passing a couple of interviews and rote learning an IQ test does not entitle you to an expat allowance, sorry.
