Dragonair Terms & Conditions 2013

Hi all.

I know a few people who will be starting as a second officer this year and I am thus aware of the pay for year one. However after searching the forums all I can find is a lot of pre 2012 information on T&Cs at KA.

I'm waiting for a KA final interview date so wanted to ask as to whether if anyone knows or would like to update on things like:

- Pay scale for junior SO, senior SO, junior FO
- Roster, still aprox 6 on and 3 off?
- Travel benefits and how they work with both KA and CX
- Holiday

Any other info as you see for to share!

Cheers all.

You would get that info in first interview, which you obviously haven't had.

You're so far off its laughable..
must be a wind up.

The interview was mid last year, i asked and was told holiday was 22 days and I was also told 6 on 2/3 off, with around 80hrs per month.

I heard from a cadet that this might be changing for new entries in 2013, alongside the starting salary.

I'm not sure how my question can be seen as a wind up? You think I'm that bored!

C-Scale details

Ka offers a c-scale contract from April 2012. This means you don't have much rights at all. You are pretty much employed based on a company policy that can be changed as they want...
Anyway
Payscales you would have to ask the company for as this is a public forum.

Expect to get 8 to 10 days off a month.
Leave is 10 weeks a year. You will not get all the weeks were you want it but it works ok.
8 years time to command on an A320 if you pass....

Travel benefit is pretty much standard in industry, J-class with CX/KA and Y-class with most other airlines.
You will have low priority with CX so chance is slim to get on sometimes.

It is a job that is average on workload and super low fun factor as we have the most boring route network in Asia.
The nightstops are short, in good hotels and completely anti social.
Good Luck!

Who are you? Keith Moon?

The night stops ARE short.. sometimes asking crew for discretion. The cabin crew are the worst. Completely antisocial.

I can see my attempt at humour went over your head.

Antisocial (definition):
1. unwilling or unable to associate in a normal or friendly way with other people: He's not antisocial, just shy.
2.
antagonistic, hostile, or unfriendly toward others; menacing; threatening: an antisocial act.
3.
opposed or detrimental to social order or the principles on which society is constituted: antisocial behavior.
4.
Psychiatry. of or pertaining to a pattern of behavior in which social norms and the rights of others are persistently violated.

Do you mean this? Or do you mean unsociable?

Unsociable (definition):

1. Not disposed to seek the company of others; reserved.

2. Not congenial; incompatible.

3. Not conducive to social exchange

I somehow think you mean the latter.

For your reference, Keith Moon was the drummer in "The Who", until his untimely death from drug and alcohol abuse. He led a particularly sybaritic lifestyle and had a penchant for wrecking hotel rooms.

See the difference?
