I'll go for a guess at 380.

320s/321s Neos and A350s for KA fleet replacement. Some of their aircraft are getting kind of old.

More 350s for Cathay, probably firming up some of the commitments. Another 20-30 or so of the type.

When Boeing firms up the 777X, plan on a 20-30 order of the type to replace the whale.

No 380, no 748i, that's for sure. :ok:

My money is on more Airbuses of one kind or another.

Possibly to start up a CX LCC ?

Just a wild guess here, but I do not think CX will be announcing any orders for Boeing aircraft at an airshow in FRANCE. However, I think there is a small order for 747-8Is out there awaiting announcement when the PR is more positive.

I believe CX will operate the A350-1000 at some point. Why not give the airline that incremental size increase from the -900 for a small marginal increase in expense to acquire them.

Still think CX would have been better off with the 787-9/10, but they were so late to the party that those aircraft were not available. So we will eagerly await the A350 which has all of its delays ahead instead of behind it. Way to go CX!!!

Ah but of course the new aircraft are 20% more fuel efficient than the old ones they are replacing...is it not surprising that management will come to their own 'logical' conclusion that the crews should be 20% more efficient too?! :ugh:

If they really want another productivity increase in return for an inflation based payrise, then perhaps it could be certified for single pilot ops.

Of course you are correct about Farnborough being in the UK (not sure how I could have thought otherwise with a name like that), but my assumptions about the A350 were correct. I still think there is an order for B747-8Is awaiting announcement, and that it will come at a later time when the PR is more positive like at a strong earnings report perhaps late this summer or next year. The aircraft won't be delivered until 2015 as they won't available until then anyways.

Sky Aviation Prepares for Delivery of Three Sukhoi Superjets
 

The Russian-made Sukhoi Superjet 100 is poised to become a regular fixture of Indonesian airspace as the growing airline Sky Aviation prepares to receive three of the 100-seat planes by the end of the year, a company executive said.

The small airline ordered a dozen Sukhoi planes at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2011 air show in Moscow, Russia.

But the $380.4 million order was delayed after the plane crashed into Mount Salak, West Java, during a promotion flight, killing all 45 on board. The crash is still under investigation.

Sky Aviation, which began as a chartered airline, has been steadily expanding its fleet from two singe-prop Cirrus planes to ten planes — including a 140-passenger Boeing 737-300. The airline is now poised to double its fleet with the delivery of 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100s, the first of which will arrive in October.

“The airplanes were actually supposed to arrival in August and September, but [instead] one will arrive in October, followed by the second and third in December,” Sky Aviation general marketing manager Sutito Zainuddin said.

Nine additional planes will arrive between 2013 and 2015, Sutito said.

The airline plans to begin regular flights out of Jakarta, Pekanbaru, Batam, Natuna and Bandung.

“With the operation of the Boeing plane, Sky Aviation is targeting its passengers to reach 500,000 by the end of the year,” Sutito said.

Sky Aviation currently serves Batam, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang and Denpasar with a small fleet of Fokker F50s.
