SHAME SHAME SHAME on you Captain who picked up the diverted CX134 yesterday. You are not helping.

Flaps, the only reason we are paying high prices for our fuel right now is that we are still working off the forward contracts at around US$120 a barrel oil equivalent.
Yet again a brilliant piece of forward planning. |
They are preparing us!
To the extent we can reduce flying and park aircraft this will likely open up opportunities for crew to take voluntary unpaid leave. I am sure someone will ask, so let me say that there are no plans to introduce mandatory unpaid leave at this stage. Unfortunately, it is possible that we would have to consider mandatory unpaid leave if the business environment were to deteriorate further.

Brent spot today is 120 (well, 120.02). Spot jet kerosine in Singapore is 132.9 a barrel.

SHAME SHAME SHAME on you Captain who picked up the diverted CX134 yesterday. You are not helping. Maybe they should put some big windows in the new ATC center so that someone can see the storms before they are right over the airport and actually implement a sound plan to deal with all the aircraft. :ugh: |
so you've put his name out there for the world to see |
Before we start talking about SLS, how about getting all our contracted paid leave allocated first??? What a bunch of BS...
|
"...out in force yesterday with another ATC collapse..." ...taking bets on which pPrat from C.......y would go on pPrune and blame ATC for the weather. :D Oh, God it's that pPrat with the moniker that he can't spell correctly, AGAIN. :ugh: |
Where? I certainly could not find the name in his post. I'm not saying he was right/wrong, but if you have such strong convictions about this matter, rat him out on the AOA forum, where you both will be known and where the captain in question can defend his decision. Unless of course, you are too stingy to join the AOA and this forum is the only way for you to vent your frustrations whilst you piggyback on others to try and create better conditions for everyone.... |
Don't be fooled. The company cannot force you into unpaid leave. We have a contracted salary level. As with that, and all other contractual benefits, they cannot be reduced without your agreement. That is the reason that the 'scheme' has been 'voluntary' in the past. They can ask....and I can say 'no'. Not playing their game this time. They just kept nearly all of the 5 Billion profit to themselves. They have enough of my money/time as it is. They are not getting any more.

SLS III.. Not a chance.. If they need to reduce crew hrs.. start at the bottom of the list. CYA iCadets.:D
|
I agree...this would be a great opportunity for iCadets to get some hands on experience in places like Oz, NZ and Southern Africa...beats playing with the CPDLC over the Pacific...
|
...taking bets on which pPrat from C.......y would go on PPRuNe and blame ATC for the weather. Coupled with the crappy forecasts from the HK Observatory it is downright dangerous. But I'm sure that would require someone actually making some tough decisions. I don't think that is allowed in this country, is it?? |
Categorically awful controlling on Friday. I was inbound mid afternoon. Complete confusion from the controllers. Confusing aircraft callsigns, useless vectors. My favourite was two aircraft holding at Abbey, to the south of the airway because the weather was impinging the north side. Another a/c arrives, told to hold NORTH of the airway at Abbey..! Pilot asks 'can we hold on the south side LIKE THE OTHER AIRCRAFT??? Hilarious....and a bit pathetic. The only restoration of sanity was the intermittent transfer of controlling to a 'gweillo' voice. Once order was restored, the local controller was back in the seat. HK...a world class airport...REALLY? There needs to be an inquiry. This is going to end in disaster one day.

While some may well be contemplating what to do during their compulsory SLS... I'm sure they will have time to congratulate the Swire family on their move up the Sunday Times Rich List to number 40, the result of being worth another 350 million pounds than last year. Strangely, they don't seem to feature at all on the Top 50 Giving List... must be a misprint...

I named nobody. If you choose to look him up, then you are interested in finding out who he is. If not, ignore my post. |
