CX & KA profiting from the carriage of SHARK FIN fin
A new petition is now online...
https://www.change.org/petitions/swi...-cargo-flights Approximately some 500 tons of DRIED SHARK FIN per year have been flown by CX and KA aircraft. Many states and countries have and are in the process of banning this lucrative trade: California, Palau, Hawaii. This is not cultural tradition but has become more of a "Show off" culture. Sharks have survived for over 400 million years and 4 major extinctions. They gestate late in life and only produce 3 to 4 pups per year. Without sharks the fragile balance of the oceans will perish with the loss and change to many other species. Please help stop this highly lucrative trade by being responsible managers and crew members. |
Well said! Thanks for the posting...

Excellent post, so you are saying that anything that is loaded into a CX aircraft needs to be quaranteened to make sure it is not being descriminating or offensive in anyway. Oh what a great idea:ok: So do they need to screen passengers as well, as they maybe cooking these shark fins, or should we ask everyone before they board if they are going to eat sharks fins when they get to their destination, and what about people that may have a criminal background, are they allowed to fly on CX aircraft? What a load of BS. Its the consumer you need to educate, not the truck driver:ugh: |
Thanks PA, good post.
Apart from the obvious moral concerns, this could well develop into a PR disaster, this could be Cathay's Brent Spar. Anyway,if it is really true we are accepting Shark Fin as cargo, it is simply disgusting. Shame on the responsible managers. |
If you bin the fin you could make it up a bit by shipping research animals into the UK.
Ministers seek deal to save animal testing imports being taken over by military - Telegraph Ministers are urgently trying to broker a deal to allow the import of animals for testing to continue saying it would be a "pity" if they ended up having to be brought in on RAF aircraft because of pressure from activists. |
Does this really surprise anyone, I mean really, descendants of drug peddlers are going to have no conscience about shark fins.
And blutack, I found most things carried on CX/KA offensive :} |
hongkongfooey
