I and some other guys have interviews for Bris/Syd base in about 2 weeks.

I'm sure when you ask at the interview they will tell you the truth, whole truth and nothing but the ......., they are very honourable that way. For instance they may tell you that you are applying for a DEFO slot in SYD/BNE and you can be assured that that is what you will get........................over my dead body...

I guess you will be able to answer that question soon then. They will pay the minimum that they can get away with.

I suppose the only way to avoid the Long Service Leave will be to hire directly to the base.

B scale pay rate probably not much use to you as it is very unlikely thats what they will offer, but its more than a jetstar effo and less than a Jet* captain.
Last person I know that applied for A330 base in ML was offered 120K but that was 5 years ago.
If you got offered close to B scale, and want to stay in Oz, and don't mind being an effo for....ever, then it may not be a bad gig.
Of course if they close the bases, then maybe not such a great gig.

More good news for those in HKG hoping for the bases to open up again. :ugh:

DEFO's terms will be.... hired on base... then when they choose to go to hkg, 36k flat housing.

What interviews exactly?

36 k housing is only after year 7 senior capt. That is after 10 years as a captain...or roughly 25 years after you join.
