New Advertising Campaign

I'm really pleased to see that Capt ( Darker side of grey ) can be relied upon to pass his skills on to the next generation
What a Naff advert

Some How I'm Tired 4th Oct 2011 07:19

But a very very nice guy, and one of the better trainers.

nitpicker330 4th Oct 2011 08:02

You'd have trouble finding a nicer chap, one of the best I've had the pleasure of being checked/trained by. :ok:

Dan you are a tw@t.

While I agree with your G day sentiment, no ads no business no pay packet.

Whether you like it or not, we the F/A's and unfortunately the cheerful and never helpful check-in staff are the face of the company.

Try to think like a passenger with no idea about aviation for a sec and hope to budda the self loading freight don't meet the average HK pilot. :E

Air Profit 5th Oct 2011 05:07

Dan. Nigel is a first rate man, and he takes pride in his job and company. There are many things about CX that drive me crazy at times, but I do take pride in who I work for. Nigel represents us well....leave him alone.

VR-HFX 5th Oct 2011 08:40

While we are on this topic, let's use Nigel for the inflight safety brief video. The recent change is scaring the kiddies:E

Damn, if that School( classroom chic) was named Cathay Pacific, for that singing thing she would have been expelled, longe timeeee. 2 Dreams 2 Teams Baby, Cathay Pacific. Kipster.

I agree with Dan, only reason why some go out of their way to volunteer for **** like this is because they need to boost their fragile egos. Same goes for those who volunteer to become trainers. If we were working for a company that treated its staff with respect it would be one thing, but we're not! As nice as you guys think he is, doesn't change the fact that he still an idiot for doing it.

Trainers

So, flap10 , you don't like the idea of being a trainer? Is there anything you are happy with at CX? You moan about everything in CX. You are a sad person. Why not just leave and try to be " happy elsewhere"? You have a severe case of inferiority. I suggest you get some counselling, it may make your life more tolerable!

The Wraith 5th Oct 2011 16:30

Personally I just think it is a real shame that none of our cabin crew would behave during flight as depicted in these ads. If they did feel empowered and confident enough to do so then they really would make a great face for CX.
But the truth is that they are all super timid, all too scared of being reported or of being chastised by their colleagues. They run the cabin service like it is a race with little time to slow down and truly interact with the passengers. It would be a cold day in hell before three....THREE.....cabin crew gave a passenger a birthday card, or made eggs into a smiley face, or all the other fantasy world crap these ads depict. It's a shame, because if they did, it would make us a truly great airline to fly with. And it's a shame that the people who think up these ads are so delusional as to believe their own propaganda. But after seeing how they treat their staff I wouldn't expect anything else.

you don't like the idea of being a trainer?
Wow routetouner..did you deduce that all by yourself???

Is there anything you are happy with at CX? You moan about everything in CX
No there isn't a lot to be happy about in CX. If you pulled your head out of your ass that would have been obvious to you.

You are a sad person. Why not just leave and try to be " happy elsewhere"?
What I find really sad is those FOs who were once pretending to be so militant, were trampling over each other to get into training once they became Captain. All because they can brag to their non CX mates back home that they are a.... "Senior Training Captain"....ooooohhhh.

You have a severe case of inferiority
Inferiority of what?? and whom?? The trainers??? Hahaha....funny comment. Sorry but I don't need to prop myself up with extra titles to feel superior, being a regular line Captain suits me just fine.

What your little mind doesn't get is that as soon as you become a trainer, or become a CX volunteer you're effectively supporting the current compay culture of "screw the staff".

suggest you get some counselling, it may make your life more tolerable
Another stupid comment!!! I have a life outside of CX... I don't need to waste my precious G days for CX. In fact there isn't enough hours during my Gdays to do the things I enjoy doing. Let me see....writing ERAS reports or going boating on a G day...hmmm let me ponder that for a few seconds and see which one is more tolerable.....IDIOT :ugh::ugh:

goathead 6th Oct 2011 01:11

Most of us realize this , that is why there is only one pilot out of 2500 odd , that have signed up for this load of bull....
