Hi Stone Crusher,

Why don't you just apply and see what the response is?

The problem with asking a question like yours on here is that you will end up even more confused than you possibly are at the moment.

You will get folks telling you not to touch this place with a barge-pole and not to bother anyway. On the otherhand you will get replies telling you that it is all clover.

No guessing which demographics the respective posters will be from.

Only you can make the decision to apply and then again to actually come if your application is successful.

Good luck, whatever you choose.

Crusher
You should have no problems getting in at CX....

The question you should be asking is if you really want to join CX!

And with that my friend, you can start a new thread!!!

They'll love you

would love to join CX...
And that's exactly what they're banking on. They're trying to ride on their reputation. However, they've reduced the package so much, that you'll never be able to advance financially. You'll spend 8 - 10 years minimum trying to micro manage your expenditure to avoid going backwards.

Before you profess your love, maybe you should have a good look at the package on offer. You've already declared that you're an Indian living in Manila, so I say this to you: Don't assess the package by converting it into Pesos or Rupees, and then rush in because the numbers are bigger than anything you've ever seen (trust me they will be). Try to assess the package in terms of HK$, from the perspective of a HK cost of living (food - expensive, education - expensive, real estate - expensive beyond your wildest dreams!)

And take the advice of the people living here now. One of the big sellers for the CX package was the housing allowance (see my note above, about real estate prices). That's gone. You'll be on the total local package.

Approach this with your eyes open, and research the facts.

I wouldn't both keeping your hopes up. CX no longer employs pilots, they employ school kids who have not idea and not much interest in flying. They call them icadets. The only way to join CX right now is to join on that scheme. You also probably will have to prove you did not fake your license credentials like much of the Indian pilot community.
