JAL Freighters
STAMFORD, Conn., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aircastle Limited (NYSE: AYR) announced today that one of its affiliates has agreed to acquire two Boeing 747-400 production freighter aircraft. The aircraft are currently being operated by Japan Airlines and are expected to deliver to Aircastle during the fourth quarter of 2010. Aircastle has already secured executed letters of intent for the lease of both aircraft. These for CX? |
The press release goes on to say; "we have signed letters of intent for long-term lease of both aircraft with industry-leading cargo carriers."
Note the plural. Unless it is deliberately obscure, that would imply that we only get one at most. Whatever... |
Word around the campfire is CX were out-bid at the last minute, so the JAL freighters are not coming.
Rumours abound that all is not well with the crewing at the Air China JV and whilst the first aircraft has left, the next 3 will be retained by CX until at least the -8 arrives. Anyone for "missed opportunities"? |
