From General Notices, late last week:

Our favourite ex-manager has recently returned to CX from his "successful" stint at KA, and rather than just being put out to pasture on the line, where his charismatic personality would be most appreciated, CX have created a new position just for him.

Now, the likely truth of the matter is that they needed to create somewhere for him to go because none of the fleet managers, or training managers, wanted to have him working for them.

Of particular note is one of his designated responsibilities:

So, now one of the first exposures new joiners will have to CX is him. WONDERFUL! :ugh:

The only saving grace is that he probably won't actually interact with the new joiners - he'll get someone else to do it while he sits in his office (aka Ivory Tower), or tries to rub shoulders with the upper echelons of the company as part of his never ending ambitious endeavour to make DFO.

God help us if he does make DFO, people will be asking for NR to come back.

No chance. Since the first appointment of a Groundling to the post of DFO, pilots will take a back seat. The next DFO will probably be a local Chinese girlie Groundling, who thinks that empennage is a winter sport!

Oh for the good old days when all we had to complain about was Captain NJ, and Captain Toss was still a First Officer..
