Air Hongkong 744 BCF Rumour!

Does anyone know if AHK is getting three 744BCF's from CX in April 2010?
Rumour is the AHK boys will fly it!:ok: What about the CX boys?:=

404 Titan 3rd Oct 2009 09:08

It's a wet lease.

Pardes 3rd Oct 2009 09:31

The wet lease is for the current 747 flying HKG-SIN-HKG. This is regarding an additional 3 more 747's to be dry leased from CX.

Baywatcher 3rd Oct 2009 12:12

CX don't have 747. Only 744

xdc9er 3rd Oct 2009 12:13

AHK 747(CX BCF) has been on wet lease since March 09, any additional airframes would likely be crewed the same way.(esp with CX getting one more BCF from Xiamen and 5 Parked in Victorville, including the first BCF delivered to CX)

To My Bonus

Your very intelligent leader at the time signed away the scope agreement with regard to Air Hong Kong.

These pilots have lower pay/benefits and this is an option we are seeking. Our 744 Check and Training Group will be training the Air Hong Kong Pilots but the final command checks will be completed by Management Pilots only to ensure a satisfactory pass rate.

As long as we have a lower paid group with lower operating costs, we will transfer flying to that group, which will ensure My Bonus.

As long as some contracts have the scope agreement in it still applies:ok:

MD11 or B744 AHK

AHK has been looking to lease 3 MD11 or B744 for about 6 months. This is not new news.

av.crew 3rd Oct 2009 17:48

AHK744...is that for real...? or just one of the press release b'coz thier competitor like Aerologic/DHL are going to fly ahk network...:oh:

xdc9er 4th Oct 2009 07:28

AEROLOGIC flying in Asia?

Why would DHL use an expensive European operator to service their routes (in Asia)which are operated by the 'cheapest of the cheapest ' (Transmile/AHK etc..)

Aerologic/DHL are going to fly ahk network...
Probably because Aerologic are not going to fly the AHK routes

With regard to the BCF's possible. AHK is certainly pointing towards expansion over the next 12 months - if you look at all the telltale signs.

BCF's are probably one of the better (Cheaper) OPTIONS for them however - wet lease or dry lease who knows. Current recruitment / pilot numbers at AHK may give a clue as to who crews them.

CX couldn't possibly provide 744 crew as we are desparately short and training Freighter Captains as fast as we can...... err... hang on.... 9 most junior captains drafted back to the Airbus soonest... WTF?

Fly747 5th Oct 2009 07:04

And KA

Plus all the KA ex 747 and 744 crew being trained onto the 'bus where they are not needed. Is there a plan? Will we be told?

av.crew 6th Oct 2009 22:25

:)any news?:ugh:

Lowkoon 7th Oct 2009 03:33

Will we be told??? SURE! Via the SCMP like every other time. :hmm:

Capt Vertigo 8th Oct 2009 17:43

Based on 'Dekka and Management' seem a good possiblilty.. ;)

Glass Half Empty 9th Oct 2009 21:37

All based around the A380 plan don't you know. Its very hush hush at the moment but all will be revealed in the coming missive to the troops.

40Deg STH 10th Oct 2009 00:44

Please take the excess BCF's. There noisy and old!!!! Back of the clock to SG is not for me. Enjoy.
How much extra will you guy's go for? You cannot fly them for your current pay.

mayday911 11th Oct 2009 17:14

Give away CX seniority list jobs because you do not like staying up at night....really smart. Are you by chance a CN already?

What if?

Current recruitment / pilot numbers at AHK may give a clue as to who crews them.
Not if some of the current guys are on the move across the street with the A330 rolling in next year......then again...........just never know!!:ok:
