Tension in CX Management

It seems our CX leaders are becoming increasingly concerned as to the pilot's rejection of the proposed new contract & the side issue of SLS for some but not all.

Word is leaking out from very recent Upper level management meetings that were called to discuss the large amount of negative feedback received regarding the lack of unity between the CEO's message, the DFO's Friday news & the GMA's update.

There is a large amount of concern also as to the pilot bodies rejection of the COS08 contract & the AOA seeking legal advice on the whole issue.

A particular issue is the GMA's update contradicting the CEO's message that all employees must support the companies need for SLS. The FAU is asking why CX is excusing certain pilots from SLS whilst at the same time asking all of its members to stick together as a CX team & support SLS. Cathay has already informed its shareholders & the press of the need for all employees to take SLS in this difficult time yet they are happy to exclude some employees from SLS.

Tension is setting in that such a poor job has been acheived in "selling the contract" to the pilot body & the lack of support from the AOA also.

Keep up the pressure guys. The message IS being heard.. :ok:

Was that from a reliable source?

Senior Captain, ex Mgmt but still very well connected & old school ISM discussing the whole mess.

The reason we are given only 10 days to decide is because management realises this is a tough sell. They don't want you to think too long about your decision.

Take the SLS, but don't sign anything. It's rather simple.

They're also keen to get it all sewn up before CM's next meeting with the UK legal establishment, booked in for mid-June I believe.

why take SLS?

WCC, why take SLS? They don't need it, they are happy to exclude people from taking it. We all can see this is about saving lots of money many years from now, not cash now!

I won't be taking SLS as I don't see the need for it. If it is such a good idea they wouldn't have made it an integral part of the CoS08 deal.

KA have been promised it will be paid back if KA becomes profitable again - they have been told they will get our travel scheme and that they will be on our priority list. KA pilots get a guaranteed 13th month and a 25 year housing scheme. What have we been promised?

Actually Hiro, as of 2 minutes ago ( 1600 ) NONE of that stuff has been " promised ".
It was rumoured to be approved by yesterday but as yet..............CANNOT

I'm not taking the SLS. There's no way! If I do decied to take anything like cos. 08 , that in itself is helping the company much much more moneywise since it will be a large paycut. It takes a lot of balls for them to even expect both. You've gotta refuse something. You can't say yes to everything they ask for if you have any respect left for yourself.

Simple

Why would anyone be silly enough to take SLS? Rather bizarre.
To keep it simpler; No to SLS and don't sign anything.

Night Watch 21st Apr 2009 09:13

I agree.... why should I take SLS!

NO to both SLS and CoS08

RAT Management 21st Apr 2009 14:19

Why do you have to say yes to something... The company says no regularly to everything thats their business strategy why cant it be ours.

Fark em say no to SLS and Cos 08, I am 100% that that is the way Im going

Make a stand now or else!

2 cents 21st Apr 2009 15:06

I say NO to SLS, AND COS08.

However after that as a gesture of good faith, I would be happy to offer to take say, 1 week Unpaid Leave to help do my part, just like more than 95% of everyone else in the company.

But 4 weeks? I just don't think so. :=
