European Jepps, 777 escape routes.
Anyone know why 777 escape routes have turned up in the Jepps to LHR? Is it to keep us guessing or is there more to it?

Do you mean the B330 escape chart?
JFK sometimes comes down B330 too. |
I thought they were more route specific. As no JFK plates just the ones most probably used to LHR. LGW etc etc.
|
maybe they're preparing to do that route also.
I've been given the impression that the Roller 400's had a noise problem with LHR in 2012! Besides which no-one has ever explained how a 400 can lose money on the LA sector due to high fuel cost, yet theoretically make money on the LHR run. Either its too expensive to run or its not! (yes I know oil is cheaper at the moment) |
Shorter flight time to LHR = less fuel burn = cheaper!!
|
to which the obvious answer is
777 on the same route = even less fuel burn |
Issued 15th January, to cover all european routes including Y1.

The Tripler would certainly be an option on the europe flights in future. However with LHR being more or less slot limited, CX would struggle to put on extra flights to make up for the 90 odd less chairs on the smaller jet. This of course assumes they can sell enough seats to fill the 400's, which in the current environment is by no means a given! No doubt they're covering all the bases.

wow..suprised they find a way to put 777 on the Y1 route.....with the 282 MRA at Tekor
