Declaration of Pregnancy

If anyone out there from CX has any inkling that they (chicks obviously) or their wife are/is preggers, make sure you declare it to CX before the end of the year, or it will cost you an extra $15K if you choose to go private. The recent NTC specifically states:

"Based on the current costs for customary maternity care, the sums for pregnancies declared to Corporate Medical Department on or after 1 January 2008 will be:

Private Room basis (Section 10.5 of Green Pages and Paragraph 3 of the Company Policy) - HK$100,000.
Semi-Private Room or Ward Bed (Paragraph 4. of the Company Policy) - HK$75,000."

These amounts are up from $85K and $60K respectively. Despite this, it would seem that not everyone at CX is reading from the same page, as a friend of mine recently tried to "declare" as such, and was told that they would have to pay the new higher threshold as the child would be born in 2008. :ugh:

I recommend taking a printout of the NTC, which is in the NTC-General area under "Flight Crew" on intraCX.

I actually just went through this today. Even brought in a copy of the e-mail. It's not the pregnancy that has to be declared, but the sums or expenses. Basically if the child is born after the end of the month then you're paying the hire amount. Or at least that's the answer I got.

Degradation of benefits

Wouldn't this be considered a degradation of our benefits and the company must seek our agreement before implementing it?
