What happened to the China Easterns A330 today?

Rwy 25R became closed as a result.

I Heard it blew a few tires, and runway edge lights taken out.

Disabled A340

Just started to taxi out on B7 and noticed this A340 in an unusual attitude as it touched down, high pitch attitude, left bank. (There was a 15 knot right crosswind at the time). I then noticed what appeared to be an awful lot of white smoke above the runway where it touched down.
During the next 20 minutes whilst they were talking to tower and emergency services the following was mentioned:
Several left hand runway lights destroyed.
A340 tyres 1 & 3 showing 0 psi.
F/O or whoever on A340 stated that captain "lost vision" during the landing but is ok now.
I think the "smoke" must have been the result of engines 1 & 2 blowing dirt back into the air.

'that captain "lost vision" during the landing but is ok now.'

Classic. I'll have to use that quote next time I crunch it on!! :p

A sneeze causes an involuntary loss of sight for a fraction of a second. Has been used in red light infringements in the past so why not here....not to say it is not true of course.

China Eastern's jet tyres burst on landing in HK
HONG KONG - TWO tyres on an Airbus A330-300 operated by China Eastern Airlines blew out on landing in Hong Kong on Tuesday but no one was hurt, the carrier said.
The incident occured just before noon at the end of a regular flight from Shanghai's Pudong international airport, the company said in a statement.
The accident had 'no major impact' on operations at the Hong Kong airport, the Shanghai-based carrier said, without specifying how many people were on board.
It was the second such incident this year.
In January, four tyres on a China Eastern Boeing 737 with 100 people aboard burst on landing in Shanghai's Hongqiao airport. No one was hurt, but the airport was forced to close for several hours.
A Hong Kong airport spokesman confirmed that operations were unaffected by the incident. -- AFP

I know a mechanic who says he had to change the tryes of wheels number 1,2,3,5 6 & 7. Also he said that the flight data recorder had been pulled and says it recorded +2G or more on landing. The A330 has been grounded and is parked at M8.
