Anybody know of a good shop in Hong Kong to buy new Breitling watch ?

Peace King, small shop in the arcade of the Intercontinental, Kowloon, I don't have better address on me. They give good discount for pilots and crew. Maybe someone else can elaborate.

Have a fantastic Breitling - picked it up in SoHo in NYC last March - Lady said it was a real one:\

Beautiful watch!

Although mine is a bit older and one of them "motion-detector-thingies" (believe that is the technical term for it).
Basically means, if you are not on the move 24/7(quick time) with the watch attached to your wrist, it will stall on you. I believe itīs one of those Breitling sportswatches.....

I still say you can't go wrong with a Breitling:ok:

yeah, the watch retailers give a discount at their own discretion of up to 20-30% (can't remember the exact figure) as suggested by Breitling. It's better to buy frm authorised breitling watch retailers to make sure u've got the authentic piece. There's too many imitations floating ard....and unless u've got a trained eye, you can't tell the difference. I came across a few that I couldn't tell until one senior sales specialist highlighted to me!

count dingleberry, are u referring to the automatic/self-winding movement?

I like their 'Profession' collection...cool bunch of watches :ok:

are u referring to the automatic/self-winding movement?

Why do people insist on buying breitling watches just because of their supposed aviation history? After all they are the most unreliable of all the high end watches.

I bought mine in Portland, US. From $1320 on the catalog, I paid $1000.

Why Breitlings ? Besides being terrific, mine is 8 years old and looks like new. Was definitelly worth it.

Maryhinge,

my advice was given to me by the Breitling watch repair centre that is in the Shun Tak centre, where the Macau Ferry runs from. That not all the Hong Kong shops are the best retailers. The reason being is that they sometimes get stock from other parts of the world, in particular the less popular models from other regions will have sat on shelves and in stockrooms. If they are over a couple of years old and they are self winders the mechanisms can sieze up. Always check the manufacture date and the intended sales region which is punched in the back of the warranty card

The best suggestion is to call them up or go and visit them, they are very helpful. And they will advise the most reputable dealers.

Other than that, I bought mine in Dubai, cheap price, new model. Very happy.

Good luck.
