Wake turbulence photo origins

Can any of you "old timers" out there with Cathay tell me the name of the . .photographer who took this sequence of 3 photos. I believe he is now retired.. .I have had a request to use the photos in a NASA publication and need to contact . .him to obtain permission....any clues would be most appreciated.. .. .<a href="http://home.netvigator.com/~pashford/images/smoke1.jpg" target="_blank">http://home.netvigator.com/~pashford/images/smoke1.jpg</a>. .<a href="http://home.netvigator.com/~pashford/images/smoke2.jpg" target="_blank">http://home.netvigator.com/~pashford/ima ges/smoke2.jpg</a>. .<a href="http://home.netvigator.com/~pashford/images/smoke-3.jpg" target="_blank">http://home.netvigator.com/~pashford/images/smoke-3.jpg</a>. . . . <small>[ 03 March 2002, 14:19: Message edited by: TwoDogs ]</small>

If no names appear, I remember seeing the photos in Flight International magazine. You could try contacting them and see if they know!. .Regards.

Try going through some search engines with the following string:. .. .+"smoke1.jpg" +"smoke2.jpg" +"smoke-3.jpg". .. .The plus signs tell the database that the word MUST be in the responses, so don't take them off.. .. .The quotes tell the database that the contents are a string and should be evaluated exactly as shown (otherwise the periods and dash will separate the filenames into different words).. .. .The idea is to find the original source. If they are still on the Net you may well find them this way.. .. .Good luck...

TwoDogs,. .. .The NZ CAA produces pilot information documents called "Good Aviation Practice" they have one titled "Wake Turbulance".. .. .On page 7 of that document they have the same photos as you are enquiring about, titled "A CX 747 -200 on approach to Kai Tak" the credit caption says "Taken from the chequerboard at a time when there was a fire in Kowloon City, thus making the vortices very visible. - Photo, Cathay Pacific 'Crews news'". .. .The document is available for download from the NZ CAA web site, the file is called waketurbulance.pdf.. .. .Regards. .. .Z
