CX Flights cancelled by Government

CX Flights from LA and Toronto were found to have infected passengers on board 4 from LA and 3 from Toronto . Those destinations have been suspended for 14 days according to the SCMP
why is this Cathay’s fault ? And why are they being penalized

In the brave new world of Hong Kong, airlines are meant to be clairvoyant. 🙄

CX has had passenger flights cancelled before, eg MNL. The airlines are no longer allowed to bring in passengers on those routes for 2 weeks, flights without passengers can continue.

In the SCMP today:

CXit crew spreading the love

”The two cases were linked to a Cathay Pacific aircrew member who was earlier confirmed to be carrying the highly transmissible variant, and both had dined at the Moon Palace restaurant at the Festival Walk shopping centre in Kowloon Tong”

Is that the restaurant where one can sample fried bat wings and pangolin soup?!
