I'm pretty sure I'm correct here, but you are never going to get some magic job on a big rig truck and get paid $10,000pm or thereabouts. Everything in life requires experience, and most of these lucrative truck jobs require at least 5 years of driving long haul, ok maybe a VBIED truck in Syria requires no experience but still. Do you think anyone would just let you loose on a 28 wheel big rig with no experience, or with your 2 hours driving lessons... good luck reversing that thing, oh and it has more buttons in the cockpit that a 1970's 767!

Anyway back to playing TV games and drinking overpriced coffee from a new CX barista (that requires no experience and people will think you're fancy when you mention things like "single origin" and "espresso macchiat" !)

Don't mock it. Before HR scum took over recruitment, one could go to Andrea and put a good word in. It's how many of us had our files pulled from the thousands and ended up in CX. I also know of a few cases where tossers have had their applications binned after a quiet word was had.

In an earlier life I would recruit pilots to an operation I was running based on the recommendation of those already working for me. Takes the risk out of the hire.

In recent times I have got in contact with some CX lads (ones I know as good blokes and good operators) and put them onto a couple of outfits recruiting where I have back channel contacts. They are in the process of interviewing now.

Networks do exist and they do work.

Of course STW has to mock it.
It’s painful for him to be confronted with a reality which doesn’t jive with his own and a world where people would put recommendations in for other people.
He doesn’t need it, so he doesn’t need to know about it.

Good to hear though he has finally had enough of HKG (and presumably cx).
Just one question for him though: was it the bucket of money that has finally filled up enough or did the bucket of finally tip over?

Come on guys, it's funny. A secret well-paid 747 job by invitation only? That's hilarious!

( and it has nothing to do with a network, of course that helps)

Was it the bucket of or the bucket of money that filled up first?

So at what point do we say enough is enough? now not only are we away for long periods of time when we are in HK we will be frowned upon for being apart of the community
I know the companies hands are tied but some compensation for these inhuman threats and conditions would be a start

That is either Longtail or CargoLogic, both contracts are terrible.

Think of these secretive job ads with "competitive package" as a tinder date without seeing a picture upfront. Enjoy!

As a valued member of the CX team your transport costs will be covered and you will receive credit hours for the testing. As the testing is a requirement for flight duties, it will be covered by the FTLs.

You will also receive an extra day of annual leave for getting the booster shot like the office workers.

Wow, it seems you’re little life just revolves around Money, as you seem to be always mention it. I guess you must love money so much that you’re happy to be locked in a cell, as long the money is keeping you warm at night?

Has it occurred to you that each of the Freighter guys and maybe to a lesser extend pax pilots are fed up with all these restrictions? fed up with getting swabbed everyday? Sick of being treated like a leper in public? Being constantly oppressed by the government via the company? All for what? The fact that some one can lose their job if they attend a function during medical surveillance?

There are more reasons than money to leave this hell hole of a city! Unfortunately STW, you struggle to see that, you’re happy in your shoebox home in the worlds biggest open air prison!

Ok let me get this straight. The purpose of the 3rd booster is to protect the pilots or protect the residents? Because the last time my sane brain and logic checked, vaccines do not prevent you from contracting the virus. So is this out of care and love to protect the pilots? ❤

I also wonder why not put in more resources to roll out vaccine passports and also entice the older folks to get their FIRST jab instead of going after 3rd jabs?

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Clog claimed there is a "secret well paying job by invitation only" for 747 pilots. Which is utter BS, as usual.

By the way, why are you still here?
Nothing to do with money? As we speak you are still here, you could leave today. Right now. But you don't, because of money..

Maybe time to be a bit more truthful to yourself..

PS If you care to know, for me it is about the roster, and not about the money actually. Once you progressed from Jnr to Snr you will understand.

Hah, more like,
"Our glorious leader augustus has prepared a video to thank you for your efforts. To assist you in coping with the stress of daily testing, crew are required to complete a learners world module, covering the main points of this video"

Carol, you should know better than to try and introduce logic and rationality into the argument!

This is the magical fishbowl of HKG, which will heroically (and patriotically) keep the virus out despite everywhere else on earth failing to do so, where in response to a person catching Delta in her quarantine hotel this summer we increased time in quarantine, where a medical expert can state on the SCMP that a week of quarantine is enough for aircrew since Delta has an incubation period of four or five days, but travellers need to quarantine for up to three weeks, a place where it makes perfect sense to send 120+ children to PB because they are close contacts of close contacts.

I’m not the one constantly mentioning money, I’m not here for the money anymore and definitely not for the living standards.

Why am I still here? same reason as the 1000 others, playing it out till we get another job regardless of the pay, my freedoms are worth more money. Again, good luck in this hellhole, I’m glad you’re enjoying it! You were never destined for better things.

and what roster you referring to? Oh you mean that “guideline” of what to expect but never work it and get on constant reserve and/or get called to for a crew-up sim which you technically have to pay for? Yeah best damn roster in the world

Me enjoying it in HK ? Are you kidding me? I am saying there are no good jobs out there. Same what you just said. And that clog is full of it. God, this is like pulling teeth.

And no, you will not choose a job "regardless of the pay". This is so childish, can't believe I am even talking to you. What a waste of time. Over and out.

NO, NO, NO, Frank!
STW says there are NO good jobs out there and that’s the end of it.
God, it’s like pulling teeth.
Why can’t you all see what STW is seeing?
HKG and cx might be hell, but it’s the best hell out there!
