Why are pilots the saddest bunch of losers in the world, all want to think they have attended Top gun and in realtiy they spend more time fighting on Pprune then actually fighting for there own contract.....

Nothing will change. We are all divided. The union was broken well before the covid hit. No one will fight for better. Those remaining will scramble to climb into those positions of perceived status only to retire with less than they would have if they had preserved their original pay and conditions. Yes pilots are the saddest bunch of losers you will find. Just listen to the conversations at the MFC.

Something like 50% of the world's airline pilots are out of work now, what shortage are you talking about? Let's not forget COS18 was introduced before the pandemic.

While world traffic may recover I’m not sure Hong Kong will go breaking any records for years to come.

Bloody hell guys

If it isn't the classic KA vs CX (now with UO and LD thrown in for good measure), it's 777 vs 747 vs Bus, or locals vs expats, or some other mindless s--t slinging contest.

I believe the locals vs expat fire ignited when the locals went crying in court to get rid of the expats.....

Hmmmmm.... Try, early 90's. If you knew your company history, you'd know 'your colleagues' who you refer to as 'locals' owe the 'expats' nothing.

POS18 didn't attract airline pilots, it attracted 400 hour (total time) C172 instructors. Of the 120 Aussie pilots only 20 or so have asked to return (and most of them don't yet have visas). Since the guys were on zero pay they had to find other work and POS18 isn't good enough to attract them back. Ten a week are quitting CX as POS18 isn't good enough to retain them. Around the world many have left the industry and most of the large pilot-mills have shut. So, yes there will be a pilot shortage, especially for CX with POS18.
