No more deep throat tests

According to SCMP story this morning, HKIA deep throat saliva tests to be replaced by throat and nasal swabs from Dec 15.

Mind you they also report as a matter of fact that aircrew were at least in part responsible for the start of previous waves as we were “exempted from quarantine”. More quality reporting 🤬.

Speaking to the blokes who do the paperwork before we test, they said it is coming in soon and to expect a longer wait to do the test

I just went through today Dec. 17th and had a shallow nasal swab both nostrils then a throat swab, not a deep swab though. Compared to mainland it’s still better in Hkg. Mainland uses a very, very deep nasal swab with 2 very large wooden swabs up there for 15 seconds and vigorously rubbed around. You cry and have nasal passage pain for several hours afterwards.
