Hiring Chauffeurs without a 13th month
Note to all those applying for this coveted position, we dont pay a 13th month. You are what the 13th month is paying for.

The article paints a pretty grim picture, as is its intent. Reality? Probably, sadly! The airline is contracting, spurred all the more by expansion at HKE. The best hope near term is that the new US-China trade deal will increase business activity for CX, but I’m not at all sure of it. That deal is directed at Mainland China. Any benefits to HK will be spillover effects.
AOA voted years ago, with an overwhelming majority, to put the 13th month equally into the monthly pay, over the year.
Instead of broadcasting bullish!t about the 13th month, go and look through the AOA minutes.

I would also like to point out that a driver is probably paid min wage. All together it is a drop in the ocean and totally insignificant compared to other expenses. I would classify this as a nothing burger compared to the other issues we are currently facing.

Yes Frog but a lot of drops make an ocean. What we are talking about here is a mindset and leading by example. They want us to save drops by RETI etc. We want to see them to reign in their corporate perks.
