Great result. Many congratulations to those who campaigned for a NO vote and to all those who voted correctly.

They can't afford more? Hahahahahahahaha!!! What, more than nothing? We'll wait. Like the Taliban waits until each group of overlords depart, we'll wait. Nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Looking from the outside now, at least we know 21% of the pilot group (in the AOA) are spineless idiots that will take any $ flashed in front of their face and 79% actually have their heads screwed on properly! At least we know that now. 😀

It would be very interesting to get the breakdown of those who voted YES. i.e. Second Officers/First Officers/Captains/Trainers/HKPA/ARAPA.

That remains to be seen. This could also be the next Jonestown.

Unfortunately for the outlook for the success of CX there seems little hope of any agreement or any chance of Management and pilots working together. The scale of the “NO” vote to Managements “Umbrella Agreement” of 79% to 21% means that Management are so far out of touch that nothing less than a sweeping new approach to relationships with the aircrew will bring about any hope of an agreement. And that just will NOT happen. They want us outside looking in rather than inside working together.

The offer of 1% pay rise was derisory and deliberate to show contempt to the aircrew (when all other staff were given a rise THREE times larger) and was correctly voted down in an emphatic manner. The plan of “teaching the pilots a lesson” and “putting the aircrew back in their box” will continue with no constructive effort to come to a real, lasting first world agreement.

While I am prepared to continue with Contract Compliance and the Training Ban ad infinitum the outlook for this airline as a career choice is looking extremely bleak.

Heartwarming that so many voted no. In particular I believe that many of the the younger crowd have opened their eyes end realised they are literally
watching a particular company debase their career and its long and hard earned COS.. It affects the younger crowd most and this was a crucial motion.

Kudos to all that voted NO. It is apparent that many of the younger members had enough integrity and character to do the right thing, and appreciate that the only hope of a career worthy of the name required a continuation of their resistance to managements threats and manipulation. I'm truly proud to recognise that this was only possible with the dedication of the majority of younger members. That alone should send a worrying message to the senior management.

very pleased with the vote , I’m just surprised that so many voted for the motion

I’m not surprised at all we had that many vote for it. Look, our own GC recommended it! Travesty! Shame on you all! Course there are sheep that just follow. Let’s get the wolves out. DS, CBB, things don’t look good. They ALL need to go.

Contrary to popular belief, millennial's are more resilient than most would believe, by the time most of them entered the work force the 2008 financial crisis hit so they know a thing or 2 about corporate greed and how hard it is to make a living in the 21st century. They're also aware that they're less likely to be as wealthy as their parents who were part of the baby boomer generation and less likely to be home owners at a young age. All these things combined forms a thick skin and a nice F U attitude towards large institutions. In terms of camaraderie, if the sharing economy is any indication of this generations values then I think millennial's should be fine. Look at the recent cadets who were training in Adelaide when CX rolled out COS18, they didn't go down without a fight. In terms of flying skills though, I can't comment on that.

They’re fine when they’ve got a bit of time in the seat.
We all had zero hours OAAT.
Couldnt agree more about the attitude. They’re the ones in the Wendy’s and FourBucks, doing crappy jobs to earn a buck.
Don’t pluck with them, they’ll walk.
