Higher Cancer Risk
Worrying article regarding our profession. At least we should be paid appropriately, considering the higher risk we place on ourselves. NO to a concessionary contract.

Mole I totally agree , in your case living underground it shouldn’t be an issue but for all crews it most certainly is
Cosmic radiation has been an issue since the advent of the jet age , only now is it coming to light . Look at the http://jag.cami.jccbi.gov/cariprofile.asp website insert a flight say from JFK - HKG using the normal levels we cruise at , then do the same flight but at 4000ft lower and see the difference in radiation levels it’s staggering . Sadly for most of the people I fly with it’s a case of ignorance is bliss let’s climb to FL 410 thanks but no thanks
Or if you prefer. https://www.omnicalculator.com/other/flight-radiation

Radiation is the least of your worries.
The crap you breathe day-in day-out in these cabins is what will kill you.
Compressing air without contaminating it is hard enough to achieve even if you actively try, but pushing air through a massive engine lubricated by very warm and massively toxic oils with few ways of preventing it from leaking into the air flow is a perfect recipe for long-exposure contamination... And the evidence is mounting.
Look up 'Aerotoxic syndrome' and why Easyjet suddenly and mysteriously decided to change all of its cabin filters after being sued by one of its pilots who got a medical death sentence from exposure to organophosphates.
Oh, and remember, if you work in the pointy end, you get the full, 100% undiluted stuff straight from the pack.
Maybe I'd rather breathe passenger farts after all.
