Cargo Pilot 'drinks'
So, there you have it. A group of pilots who have been abused, disrespected, treated with condescension, cynicism and utter contempt have proved just WHY they should probably keep expecting such treatment (and that is exactly what they can expect). I note all your smiling faces in the photo on the company newsletter, although the only one with a REAL reason to be smiling in that photo is AT (note: why do you think they highlighted the photo in the newsletter?). You had the PERFECT opportunity to send a sharp message to the company as to how you had reached your limit of abuse; you instead provided management with cover. Brilliant. Additionally, you unwittingly conspired to provide them a with a perfect marketing photo-op. It's hard to feel any more sympathy for your plight after digesting the implications of that photo. And please, don't respond with a trite comment about how "you told AT just how upset you were". I am pretty sure all you did was prove to AT just how easy it is to manipulate and devalue the pilots. Not only your group, but the rest of us as well. How difficult would it have been to just simply have not attended? Sad. To AT, congratulations, they played right into your hands, and I acknowledge you've won that round hands down. Not bad for the price of some cheap drinks... Cheers.

Princesses. ? I’m equally aghast at guys turning up for this (the usual suspects it would have to be said, the usual lemons, sadly no Kevin Sp&cey), however the individuals enduring all that the freighter roster entails, and all the that go with it, can hardly be described as princesses.
Chronic sleep disruptions, changes, inconsistencies in who provides wake up calls and notifications.
A death on the aircraft.
Had 10 or 12 roster changes lately, on the one pattern ? Lost leave and G days ( forget o days they’re just part of the pattern ) {6 last year } have we. ?
Expected to make one’s own way across GDL/ DEL/ you name it in a taxi having PT’d in EY or PX’d for 20 + hrs, pay for it yourself and claim it back, getting the money back 3 months later ?
Inability to obtain any form of decent meal at the usual ungodly arrival times as everything is shut ( even the main hub ANC ) and no boxed lobster meals ( à la Boston) for thee.
Thought not. Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes before you comment, and the freighter guys and gals are very far from princesses. Pillow menus anyone ? Duvet gate ?

The whole fleet office and a few South African SO who must have been eager to tell them how much better they have it here on HKPA than back home.
THAT must have been a fun night!

Got to agree. Zero sympathy from me now onwards. Whining all the time on every hijacked forum but free drinks with management and we are there big time. Smiling in the photo. What next

I might add that although I completely oppose what AT is trying to do, or the methods she employs, she at least demonstrates commitment, fortitude and a fighting spirit. I say that as recognition of a tenacious adversary who is not without her character strengths. Shame our own people are so adept at 'own-goals'. Even when they are handed a golden opportunity to send a message to our management (and after years of bitterly complaining about things, what other choice would they make), it turns out they just couldn't help themselves playing managements game managements way. Pathetic. You all look like one big happy family. Well done guys, you really showed them.
I might add as pathetic as the C and T's showing up for their 'drink nights' a couple of weeks ago. I despair.

No doubt some SOs who need a free feed because they're left with no disposable income after they've topped up their meagre HKPA to pay the rent and feed the rest of the family

So no irony in the fact that there’s no seniority on the freighter fleet, if you’re on it you can’t get off. And none of the other AOA members want to fight to fix this. And you wonder why guys turn up for these evenings. Zero support from their colleagues is part of it.
Imagine if guys turned up for command on the 777 and were told someone 200 numbers under them was getting the slot instead.

....so....the above 'reasoning' is why you would show up to a management drinks night (the very group DIRECTLY responsible for your misery)? You're 'upset' at your colleagues. Well, you really showed us....

So you’re perfectly fine with freighter pilots getting zero support from their colleagues. And the blame for that lies with the company? Yep that makes sense.
The group DIRECTLY responsible for changing the state of affairs is the pilot body who won’t.

morningcoffee, very unusual for a mangement employee to be working on a Saturday morning.
All the members I know DO want to fix it, as we all know it could be us stuck somewhere unpalatable in the future. The mis-mangers of this company won't negotiate in good faith on any topic whatsoever, so what specifically do you suggest the AOA do to fight this specific travesty?
I'm all ears!

Before Arapa before anything else is discussed, this is sorted. In fact if it’s money and the cost of extra conversions then I’d take a hit on arapa to get this sorted. If a large bunch of 777 guys have to go tomorrow to the freighter to sit in the Sheraton Anchorage for a large portion of the rest of their lives then so be it.
It’s a pity we didn’t order a large bunch of 777 freighters then we could CCQ both types 777 and 748.
Thank you for your support broadband.

This attendance makes me sick to my stomach. While most professional pilots in this company are trying to hold the company to account and protect the profession in CX you idiots are just showing how immature and amateur you really are.
You are a disgrace to the whole pilot community.
What a bunch of cowboys !
You lot are a disgrace to the profession and the CX pilot body.
We know your price ( a bottle of beer ).
How low can you stoop ?

Pax fleets go back to 5 weeks leave, freighter fleet gets 8 weeks instead to reflect far greater time spent away from home.
Or, screw them it’s every man for himself......

Seems you should cut down on the caffeine because as a 3rd floor pundit you appear outspoken and that surely won't get you that next promotion.. Go back to dry humpin the DFO's pantsuit leg before you get made "Head of BrushWinger Onboarding"
